  1. Who knows? I would assume there would be some sort of camping option given the location, but then again the target demographic would be more likely to stay in hotels. We're not talking a Coachella or Bonnaroo crowd. It will be interesting to see how (if?) this all plays out.
  2. Really? Cheaper than LOCKN'? I suppose it's possible, but I feel like the target demographic for this will be milked pretty aggresively. I hope I'm wrong (assuming the event even happens).
  3. Damn you. Damn you hard. I would think that would be the absolute lowest for three days, without camping. Hell, face for some tickets for the Stones alone has been more than that on recent arena shows. I'm sure face value on high-end VIP packages would soar into the five figures, or at least close to it.
  4. So this would be quite the event. At first I thought it was a leftover April Fools' Day post, but it's being run in some pretty legit media. One can only imagine the price tag on tickets. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/rolling-stones-dylan-mccartney-neil-young-in-talks-for-mega-concert-20160415
  5. Fiasco? Details? I vaguely recall hearing something at the time, and the setlist is heavy on getting it from the man, but I can't remember what the issue was.
  6. Losing a four-legged family member is the absolute worst. Good thoughts in your direction.
  7. Well this thread sure went in an unexpectedly hetty direction. Nice one.
  8. You're at an even 25,000 posts, brah. Shouldn't we have some kind of ceremony?
  9. A troubled guy, that's for sure. Have to feel for his family right now.
  10. Looks cool. And I have to say that even though I've enjoyed Jambase's "Songs of Their Own" video series, I'm glad this project isn't just the usual suspects when it comes to Dead tributes. The likes of John Popper and Reid Genauer are great and all, but I'm all for Dead covers by artists that aren't a big part of "the scene"
  11. Yessir: https://archive.org/details/jsb-gtb2002-12-31.shnf I was at school in NB at the time, but was home in Ottawa for the holidays and missed that show. I still regret not flying back early for it. I think it may have been the first seamless set show, but I stand to be corrected.
  12. I lived out East from '99-'04 and was really into to both bands while I was out there. That said, I never loved the seamless sets. It was a cool idea, but after seeing it done once I found it was a novelty that detracted from the show. Personally, I would have rather seen each band play one, two-hour set than the two, one-hour sets, which is what the seamless set shows entailed if I recall correctly. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed them, but would have been fine had they stuck with a more conventional setup. But yeah, glad to see JSB back at it for another run. Man I had some great times at those shows, and it was fun to see them explode regionally and get some recognition nationally during their peak years. I doubt that they'll make it as far as Ontario this time around, but hopefully some recordings make it out.
  13. More times than the Dead, Esau? Damn. Can you put a number on it?
  14. I don't entirely agree. His band is still great, and it can be fun to see his current arrangements of songs you know well in their original forms. I've seen him four times, I think, and while I'm not chomping at the bit to see him again, I wouldn't turn down the opportunity.
  15. Wish I could make it. Had a great time at the last Mercury Lounge show.
  16. Joke's on you, he's touring with his pre-Heartbreakers band Mudcrutch this summer. OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
  17. Don't they know we need months to speculate, hypothesize, and delude ourselves? I mean, has anybody even CHECKED Tom Petty's July schedule for a two-day gap between Tulsa and Scranton that could potentially work?
  18. Pretty stacked as far as this scene goes, and I say that as someone who has never been into Ween. Late night JRAD after Phish would be a ton of fun. On the whole, it's reminiscent of the first few years of Bonnaroo and the only two years of Rothbury. It's not going to cater to a wide demographic, but if this is what you're into it's one-stop shopping and should be pret-ty pret-ty pret-ty good. Edit to add: I still think that Twiddle is just a performance art piece by Brooklyn hipsters that has gotten way out of hand.
