  1. Anybody get tickets to The Secret Path shows? I was traveling and got through on the phone at two minutes after ten, but at that point all they had were $1000 tickets left. #nothelpful
  2. Mike Filipowitsch "or" the Burt Neilson Band, or Mike Filipowitsch "of" the Burt Neilson Band?
  3. Agreed! They're a great show. Looking forward to seeing them open up for Greensky in Burlington this weekend.
  4. 12 Songs that have come and gone since this thread went into hiberation (July 3rd, 2011) 1. America! - Bill Callahan 2. Grenade - Bruno Mars 3. Somebody That I Used to Know - Gotye
  5. Songs about resurrection. 1. Lazarus - moe.
  6. Big week for GSBG. They're playing the Capitol Theatre this Saturday night (9/17). Nugs.tv will be webcasting starting at 9:00 EDT. The new album - "Shouted, Written Down & Quoted" - drops next Friday (9/23) which is the same day they start a two-night stand at Higher Ground. I'm going to miss the Cap show, but will be at both Higher Ground shows. Wahoooo! Here's a little something from the new record. That dobro, though:
  7. Really pumped for the Ottawa show. Who else is in?
  8. Per @TheHipdotcom on Twitter: Tickets will be released for the London & Toronto shows. Available Aug 3 at 1pmET in the venue box offices & online https://t.co/YIRZy2UrTH (I'm still looking for a single for London, if anyone has an extra.)
  9. I love how much coverage this tour is getting. Today the National Post had the full setlist from last night in Vancouver, as well as a rundown of every song played over the first three shows. Forty-eight unique songs, by my count. And cool how they're grouping them by album as Phorbesie pointed out. Here's the list as it currently stands: Machine: 3 What Blue: 3 Bobcaygeon: 3 In a World Possessed of the Human Mind: 3 Poets: 3 Tired as F—k: 2 The Luxury: 2 Little Bones: 2 Twist My Arm: 2 Wheat Kings: 2 Grace, Too: 2 At the Hundredth Meridian: 2 Gift Shop: 2 Ahead by a Century: 2 Three Pistols: 2 New Orleans is Sinking: 2 Opiated: 2 Thugs Boots or Hearts Blow at High Dough Something On Fireworks Family Band The Lonely End of the Rink Yer Not the Ocean In View The Last of the Unplucked Gems Long Time Running Eldorado At Transformation Man Machine Poem The Lookahead We Want to Be It So Hard Done By Fully Completely Locked in the Trunk of a Car Courage Fifty-Mission Cap We’ll Go Too In Sarnia My Music at Work Lake Fever Toronto #4 Putting Down Greasy Jungle Yawning or Snarling Don’t Wake Daddy Springtime in Vienna http://news.nationalpost.com/arts/music/take-a-look-at-the-tragically-hips-set-list-from-tuesdays-vancouver-concert Looks like I've found Ottawa tickets (for face!), still looking for a single for London.
  10. They're headlining Red Rocks for the first time this Saturday night (7/23) with Leftover Salmon opening. Nugs.tv is video streaming Greensky, starting at 10:30 EDT.
  11. Have a beauty of a time. As I said above, I was floored after his show in Ottawa. It was so far above and beyond what I had expected. And ten points to you for taking your son.
  12. And also London, where I'll be for work at the appropriate time. Funny the geographic disparity of secondary market tickets. As low as $20 USD each on StubHub for the western shows, but then at least five times that once they get to Ontario. Interesting, too, that London is the second priciest show behind only Kingston. Maybe size of the venue? TLDR; looking for Ottawa and London.
  13. Fall tour just announced. I will definitely be at September 23rd and 24th in Burlington - a Friday / Saturday, no less - and possibly the 22nd in Portland. Giddy up!
  14. We might do Sunday. We'll be at my wife's parents' place, which is three hours from the venue. If the weekend goes according to plan we'll leave the kids with their grandparents and head down. Although if we do I will likely end my perfect streak of always being inside for Phish at SPAC.
  15. My thoughts exactly. I had to Google all three headliners (Jesus) and it would seem that none of them had much of a career before 2013. I don't feel quite as lame, in that case, given how hyper-contemporary they are. It's not like they've been established for a decade and my head is completely in the sand. There are some bands I enjoy on the undercard (Dropkick, Lake Street Dive and Fruition among them) but I may well skip it entirely. It's too bad, as I had been looking forward to the lineup dropping, but God bless 'em. Hopefully the turnout is killer and there will be more of my thing (or our thing, judging by the other comments) next year.
  16. Looking for heady extras for Ottawa...
  17. That's pretty great. And for charity, no less. JamOn will be streaming a bunch of it as well, for those who subscribe.
  18. Or if he's as terminal as they say he is, maybe he wants to maximize time with friends and family, while still going out for one last jaunt. It's not an exhaustive tour, but I'm just glad they're making one final go of it.
  19. Gut-wrenching. We are losing a national treasure. Like many of you I latched on to the Hip in high school, and latched on hard. Theirs was the first "scene" I was really a part of, and even though I haven't been an active fan for a long time, I love that they are an inextricable part of my musical DNA. I'll be at the Ottawa show, for sure, and it looks like I'll be in London for work when they play there, so I may try to make that happen as well.
  20. Ahmet looks like a tool when he says that the same rules apply to everyone, despite the fact that Dweezil is the only professional musician in the bunch.
  21. Not this guy. I love the concept, but it's not going to pull me down there.
  22. Add a hundred bucks for camping: http://home.deserttrip.com/staying-here and you're looking at five hundred bucks for the cheapest possible way to do it. Winner winner, gourmet dinner!
