Saw this yesterday. Very strange timing, so shortly after he returned for the Mexico run. Plenty of speculation that he couldn't hack it when he came back and was booted, but I don't think the story will ever be made public.

As a young boy he always dreamed of being as big as Greensky(?). What a trip it would be to see him in that venue. They are absolutely exploding right now, both in terms of musicianship and popularity. A few years ago we were seeing them in rooms with three dozen people. Saturday night they sold out Irving Plaza (edit to add: NYC venue with 1,000 capacity) to such an extent that there were professional scalpers out front and people were asking 3x face on StubHub. But it's not just a hype thing. These guys are working their asses off, touring relentlessly and getting better with every show. Been at Greensky shows the past two nights, so lots of chatter about this. I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about Delfest. One of these years...

Nope. Both times the Mountain Jam logo appears on the screen it says underneath "Presented by Radio Woodstock and Warren Hayes."

Although I would caution against looking for clues in the details of a video that twice refers to "Warren Hayes."

At this point, it's just nice to see Third Eye Blind still getting work.

Wow. I fell down the rabbit hole of this story every time it would bubble to the surface on one message board or another over the years, but I can't say I ever held out much hope that it would be solved. Hopefully this brings peace to someone, somewhere who knew and maybe missed this kid.
