  1. ::fingers crossed:: I'm just waiting for the Hughey Lewis and the News come back / reunion tour has there ever been a more poingnant lyricist.....? ::fingers crossed::
  2. niiiiicccce! make sure you let her read this. You're IN ari, no doubt about it, you smooth talker, you.
  3. I'm worried about the man's vision....he appears cross-eyed and I fear that may seriously compromise his flying ability.
  4. Happy Birthday Sara! Best wishes for a crazy, rockin' night (and a speedy recovery tomorrow.....hey...I think your BD should include breaskfast in bed tomorrow, too!)
  5. thanks for that Tim.... he's also playing in Bancroft on the 22nd. Maybe we should all meet for a mid-winter cottage retreat long-weekend?
  6. okay...those drawings on page 20 & 21 are super-freaky. I'm gonna be haunted by that image of the baby crowning and waving and looking so loopy-happy, tripped out on something! Not to mention the frozen, happy-pill-smiles of dad and doctor!!! also, it's hilarious at the beginning...p6...stereotypically, the German gal is larger than her man!
  7. not sure that'll help....she picked Willy out of the back, and her magnetism is such that she got him up there even though he later said he was terrified! could have been the huge white-boy afro, though and the funkified 70s duds he had on!~
  8. don't have live stuff, but if I remember I'll bring you copies of the 2 studio albums we have. Sharon puts on one of the most high-energy shows I've ever seen. Prepare to have smokin' holes in your soles when that soul sister hits the stage at Langerado! She really plays to her audience and will pull folks on stage with her to dance, sing, jam (won't she Willy?) so try to get as close to the stage as you can!
  9. Awesome!!! I'll run this all by Dave and hopefully we'll be grooving alongside y'alls on Friday night
  10. and to get this thread back on track.... I was delighted by the news that he has a new CD due out. I woke up today to the Willie P/Bruce Cockburn collaboration called "Last Word" I agree entirely paise with your description of the man/performer....and I applaud your imagery, Sir Licker of the Toads, for I don't believe I could EVER have come up with: "if you get to talk to him its like conversing with a meadow atop a cliff near the ocean" with your permission, can I use this in my senior English courses as an example of an excellent & original simile? (I'm really not kidding)
  11. happy evening, on this the day of your birthing!
  12. Tim, is it a "family" pub?.....maybe we could manage the first set at least, if we could bring the wee ones.... seriously let us know. and do they serve food (that's not meat on a stick)? Probably fries at any rate, eh?
  13. OMG that's hilarious to think we crossed paths without knowing it. that's exactly when Dave & I hooked up (and what a great soundtrack to that time in my life do those pub nights/recordings make!!!) you should talk to Dave about some of the old Kingston freaks you would both know. Does the Barrack Street "speakeasy" mean anything to you? we can burn some Pat Temple for ya if you'd like.....
  14. on a regular basis? way to keep 'im in line, girl, but maybe you should save your energy and just buy a Tazer!
  15. ...and thanks, KK, it has indeed arrived. Now we just have to find an evening when the kids go to bed/fall asleep before we do!
  16. well fine then....I didn't really want to give that name away anyway so...... who wants to join MY band....THE WEEKEND ASTRONAUTS?? I'm on "dancing" and "tambourine" All other positions open. (though, pretty much, I'm a fuckin' party all by myself )
  17. interesting....you wouldn't perhaps mean "Blueberry Pickin'" by Pat Temple (they played together/collaborated often I believe)
  18. wow....vicarious pleasure from the read! Glad everyone had such a blast/blasted time. sure wish we were closer! awesome news about the upcoming new CD!!!
  19. oh! oh! oh! I totally forgot....woke up with this one on the brain for ya recently (I got a memory jog from paisely's description in the Willie P thread:) call yerselves THE WEEKEND ASTRONAUTS
  20. Rev....you write your own GREAT stuff.... I still LOVE "The Others Disagree", but now it's in tight running for "It Was Never Confirmed" (just think of all the tight spots that line could getcha out of!)
  21. oh yeah, you know me, I'm all about making egg salad sandwiches and pickles for the afterparties!
  22. I want a Tee that has the Canadian Widlife logo, picture of the spider and the label "Crack Spider's Bitch"
  23. and how difficult is it to retro-fit a fan, TG? I figure 'you-da-man' after gutting your whole house! I like exceedingly hot jacuzzi baths, and have noted that every month or so I have to take a brush to the bumpy-pimply ceiling plaster (what's that called, anyway) to scrub off the mold I've generated. This makes me feel like a vengeful god and actually I'd be happier to skip the whole creation-destruction process.
  24. good god this whole thread is gross, and should have come with a warning!! Lara, I hope it all works out, and that there's nothing further needed than 'waiting it out", but *shudder* this reminds me why I gave up contacts a long time ago....
