  1. Congrats! Please remember us little people when you are driving around in your BMW with Telfer plates.
  2. sorry. she cant have it both ways. she cant say "there is a whole lot of corruption going on there" and "these associations don't do much except make new drugs to mask symptomology" (whatever that actually means) and then half-assed excuse it with a "but im not saying they are all bad". it was an enormously ignorant statement regardless of the caveat and im calling her on it.

  4. OTJ, if your intention here is to accuse the Canadian Diabetes Association, et al., of being ineffective and complacent with profit-driven pharmaceutical companies to the detriment of the Canadian public, you are very very wrong. It is beyond insulting to the thousands of volunteers and highly trained professionals that give of themselves to these associations. I have been involved in a number of studies involving the CDA, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Lung Association, etc. and can vouch for the honour and hard work of the many individuals with whom Ive had the pleasure of interacting. They care for individuals affected by these chronic conditions and seek to prevent others from being affected. While you may not have been trying to be mean, you were. Very.
  5. we went to see them last night at Copps and Josh Homme (lead singer / guitarist) said the crowd at the ElMo the night before in TO was awful. the crowd in the hammer was totally into the show, complete with small slamosh pit and loads of surfers. we decided at the last minute to head down from guelph to see if we could grab a pair of (sold-out) GA floors outside, but instead ended up getting an incredible pair of 10th row front/side stage tix, obviously production seats, released the day-of. really fun show. a bunch of songs from the new CD - 3's&7's, Misfit Love, Turnin' on the Screw, Sick, Sick, Sick - as well as some great old ones like Little Sister, No One Knows and Burn the Witch. Over 90 minutes. One last show in Ottawa tonight. Go.

  8. i love him. we have most of his stuff. i'd recommend Illinoise to start. the christmas collection is neat too, but a tad redundant. the man could use an editor when it comes to song titles, tho'
  9. im going to take the liberty of slightly opening the thread and ask about BBQ care and use. we have a decent gas bbq with a ceramic grill (that my parents bought us as a housewarming gift a couple of years ago, thanks M&D). do youse guys use a wire brush to carefully clean the grill before or after grilling? before or after pre-heating? do you ever oil the grill, and if so, how? do you ever use wood chips? and can i use the built-in "tray" (that sits under the grill and above the flame) to place the chips in, or do I need some special contraption? we also got a rotisserie and im ashamed to say we have never used it. anyone ever use one? mucho gracias
  10. it depends on the file. sometime programs like word or excel will cache the last files used internally and you may be able to recover them that way. most likely gone, tho'. sucks. sorry.
