  1. and AC, please post things about the Slip in any forum. it's always appreciated.
  2. pt' date=' You and I have seemed to have pretty similar musical tastes in the past, but that is just plain scary.[/quote'] hey! I never claimed to have good taste! ok, well maybe I did. but not when i was a youngun'. i also wore out my Snoopy and the Red Baron album because - apparently - glueing three pennies to the stylus arm, to prevent skipping, isn't good for the machine. who would have ever known that!?!
  3. it's actually 88 lines about 44 women ...
  4. couldn't agree more! and whoever invented ranch potato chips should be dragged out into the desert, slathered up with ranch dressing and left to the mercy of the scorpions. ALMOST as bad as ketchup chips.
  5. im sure everyone will sit around the edge of the room cross-legged, on individual hand crochet'd pillows, snapping their fingers appreciatively whenever he high kicks. you know, standard whacko stuff. edit to add: is his middle name really "Hellion"?
  6. no need to "fit in", raise a little hell if you'd prefer. :susel:
  7. any gunplay? fwiw, im actually having a fun day with my analysis.
  8. a jukebox? that is the coolest thing!! I also love that song. The first song I recall really loving is "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce. I found these lists of the 1050 Chum Top 100 Hits for the 70's. 1970 1971 1972 1973 1974 1975 1976 1977 1978 1979
  9. ive noticed a lot of dicussion here about crowds at shows. so, i'd like to toss these out for discussion: can a bad crowd ruin a good show for you? can a good crowd make a bad show good? what makes a crowd bad or good? and yeah, i know, Toronto crowds are the worst, yadda yadda yadda. i'll offer up my opinion to start. if a show is good, it's good. the crowd can make it less enjoyable, but can't ruin it for me. a crowd can make a mediocre show better. but even the greatest crowd cannot make a bad show good. i really cannot say what makes a "good" crowd, other than they are into the show and seem to know (at least, some of) the music. my pet peeve: people who spend the whole show on their blackberry, shining that damn screen in my face.

I saw Dave Stewart interviewed once and he said "I hate it when people refer to us as THE Eurythmics. It's Eurythmics. There's no 'the'. It's like Pink Floyd. It's not The Pink Floyd. It's just Pink Floyd." Don't piss off Dave Stewart. hehe Yeah, I saw them in '84 at Kingswood too. One of my fav bands.

  16. are you coming on to me? Cmon.......a little. slip forum please
  17. with family, roger whittacker at the o'keefe. without family, split enz at the bolton community arena.
  18. i love smart centres. they are so convenient. everything i need is there. a big walmart. a big grocery store. loads of chain roadhouses. plenty of parking. and a big, dead downtown core of small shops right nearby. ugh.
  19. I saw the Village People open for Cher once. That was really gay.
  20. How would she "ruin it" for other women? I dont understand. Is it because she's an intelligent, powerful woman, and that intimidates people? Would a less aggressive woman make a better president, and when is that likely to happen? I sense people judge her on emotions, rather than on policy or experience. Clearly, she's more experienced than Obama. The "3:00am ad" was wacky, but its hard to argue with its core message - she's been there, he hasn't.
