I was just thinking.... If the Jays didnt have Vernon (but had the same team as they do now), and he was on the last year of his contract with another team, it wouldnt be out of the realm of expectations to trade a couple of prospects for him, would it? So why not just keep him for this year and try to win, then say see ya, cuz, well, thats what happens in sports, contracts end. I see no need in trading him this year. Unless its for serious bullpen help.
