  1. Doesn't the fact that a festival has switched from almost entirely jamband-based to more mainstream alt-rock to ensure financial survival reinforce the notion that jam is dead? And yes, I like run-on sentences.
  2. It is not A music festival, it seems like ALL music festivals. Find the reasons you need to, but I am comfortable with the phrase "jam is dead". Hoping it comes back to life.
  3. Not much action on the BST board, so I thought I would give this a shot here. I have 7 $25 Sony Store gift cards for sale. They are valid until the end of June, 2008. They are available for $20 each. Please let me know if you are interested in any quantity.
  4. *Fingers crossed for a remote-controlled helicopter* That's GOTTA be what Pink is hinting at, right?
  5. My 06 Civic Hybrid is averaging about 700kms on 35 litres of gas. Not the astonishing advertised mileage, but still great.
  6. At this point, the line-up would have to be totally replaced for me to have any interest. Clearly this is no longer a jamband festival.
  7. To be honest, I have to credit Stoned Phillips with the (great) idea.
  8. FYI, the Chicago run is over the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday. Fri-Oct-05 The Riviera Theater Chicago, IL Sat-Oct-06 The Riviera Theater Chicago, IL Sun-Oct-07 The Riviera Theater Chicago, IL Monday October 8th is the holiday. If a decent flight deal pops up before the onsale it would make a perfect holiday!
  9. The disappointment I had in not being able to go this year (to make it three in a row) has now vanished.
  10. I watched a bunch of the final table live, last night, and Lam was doing fairly well. He ended up going out second to Jerry Yang, and pocketed $4,840,981. Last hand went down at 6:50am this morning:
  11. For those in Toronto, the Steam Whistle brewery is running an interesting offer. If you order a home delivery of Steam Whistle in June and July, you will receive a FREE pair of tickets to Toronto’s Festival of Beer for either Friday, August 10 or Sunday, August 12. It costs $15 to have one case of Steam Whistle delivered in Toronto and tickets to the Festival of Beer are usually $30 each, so this is a pretty good deal. Steam Whistle
  12. It goes both ways AD - sometimes you get a better deal in advance, as the hotel is relatively sure they will not be sold out, and other times more optimistic hotels finally realize late that they have to drop their rates to sell out. Six of one, half dozen of another.
  13. Craigslist Wasaga Beach Rentals
  14. We saw the crowd pouring into downtown Charlottetown. The overwhelming majority was drunken teenagers, so I am quite sure they didn't care.

  16. I am going to spend the next 5 minutes wondering how the St. Lawrence Market could be fun for a ten-year-old.
  17. The Toronto Islands are a great place for a picnic, and you can walk around Centreville (they have a small zoo) for free. The ferry ride alone would probably be fun for a 10-year-old. Toronto Zoo is another fun place for a kid.
