  1. I mail ordered. It was all a bit of a panic as I am in Mexico now on vacation. Before I left Toronto, I spent $3269.65 CAD on postal money orders in USD. I went for the maximum allowed. 4 tix for each night, all 3 nights at all 3 price levels. Hoping to score big, with 4 awesome reserved seats for each night !! I decorated my envelope and sent in an additional $35 USD for priority post return mail. I had a good friend go to the post office yesterday for the 9am opening and mail it off for me. I have 2 hotel rooms reserved in d/t Chicago. One at the Crowne Plaza and another at the Intercontinental. My flight is already booked through my Aeroplan points and now I wait until mid-February before knowing whether I have tickets or not...sigh
  2. Just reserved 4 nights at the Crowne Plaza a couple miles from Soldier Field Now to score tix Should be a tough one Best of luck everyone ! Hoping to take my sister and nephew Soldier Field was one of the first shows that I took my sister to in `91
  3. SOLD OUT in Glasgow & London ! Way to go Barr Bros.
  4. I'd join you brother, but I'll be on the beach in Sayulita

  6. Are Burl's Creek & Molson Park one and the same? The last time I was at Mariposa Folk Festival was 25 years ago (1989) when it was held at Molson Park. The Violent Femmes and Stompin' Tom were headliners that year. Hoping Radiohead will be on the bill for this festival as they have never done a make-up show since the stage collapse cancellation at Downsview Park a few years ago.
  7. This morning (I'm in the Philippines, so about 12 hours ago), I bought Spoon, Foxygen, Barr Brothers, The War on Drugs & the latest Leonard Cohen album on iTunes. Thank you to all for posting in this thread. I've already listened to most of them (except Leonard) and they are all GREAT albums. I can spend another $50 bucks tomorrow, so I'm going to look into more of the suggestions posted. Keep them coming ! Thanks a bunch
  8. My favourites from this year in order; 1) Jack White - Lazaretto 2) Jonathan Wilson - Fanfare (released in 2013, but I didn't discover it until this year) * thanks c-towns 3) Morrissey - World Peace is None of Your Business 4) Sam Smith - In the Lonely Hour 5) Chris Robinson Brotherhood - Phosphorescent Harvest Thanks for posting this thread. I often buy $100 worth of iTunes albums on weekends with my work entertainment allowance, so now I have some new music to consider. cheers
  9. It's 30*C and sunny here in Bangkok, Thailand
  10. I'm stoked for this show tomorrow night ! Turkey is a beautiful country. I spent the afternoon on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea south of Adana today. Life is pretty damn sweet !!
  11. Wed 11/05/14 Bahamas The Danforth Music Hall The Barr Brothers
  12. Scary to hear about what is happening back home. It's all over the news (CNN) here in Vietnam. I get to head to Eastern Turkey in a weeks time, about 500 kms from the Syrian border. Lucky me...
  13. These look like they would be a good time ! Too bad I am never home to attend. How about a post DSO show on Thursday, November 13th ? That I could make.
  14. Great website for Grateful Dead shows http://relisten.net/grateful-dead Listening to 3/20/1992 now Good times
  15. From Jack White's website; I think this would have been one of Ikey's last performances before they headed down to Mexico. RIP Mr. Owens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wytD1bEcS5Q
  16. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/erik-spoelstra-almost-passed-up-his-first-job-with-the-miami-heat-for-a-grateful-dead-show-043028674.html;_ylt=A0SO8wu1oypUEUoA_GdXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEzdW84aWhlBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDNQRjb2xvA2dxMQR2dGlkA1NNRTMzOF8x if you mentioned this story to serious Deadheads then they would probably think Spoelstra made a terrible mistake. If we assume that the Portland native was set to go one of the two shows in the city on May 28 and 29, 1995, then he would have been present at one of the band's final performances before the death of icon Jerry Garcia on August 9. We also don't know if they did particularly good renditions of "Jack Straw," "Dire Wolf," and various jams from either date. Can you really put a price on such memories, however hazy? Even if the alternative was setting on a course towards millions of dollars and international fame?
  17. Hopefully he won't cancel due to scalpers like he did in NYC. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/yusuf-islam-cancels-first-new-york-show-in-35-years-over-ticket-scalping-20140924 Yusuf Islam Cancels First New York Show in 35 Years Over Ticket Scalping
