  1. Any Al Di Meola cover, as long as his picture is on it, could make a "worst ever" list. The guy is slimy cheese all the way. Peter Allen covers are just plain hilarious.
  2. I have to say that the Icky cover isn't too flattering, but it has a long way to go before it can be considered in the "worst ever" realm.
  3. I can't wait for that Stripes album to hit the stores. Jack describes it as really heavy and bluesy with some country too.
  4. I'm not sure if you can get there by TTC, although there may be a bus you can take from Yonge and Front. You could always walk from Front to Cherry Street - it would take 15 minutes to get to the Docks from Union Station.
  5. I'm going to make a game day decision on whether I can or want to go to this show.
  6. Drive along Queen Street East and look for the used/antiques stores - it begins around Sherbourne and there's stores dotted along the way all the way out past Greenwood. There's literally dozens of stores along Queen Street. You won't be disappointed.
  7. Well at least it's better than naming the kid ABBA.
  8. I'm totally happy for this team and in particular Chris Bosh and Sam Mitchell. Look at where they were last year and look at them now. I know the Atlantic is weak, but they have proven that they are a Top 4 team in the Eastern Conference. Sure, they can't beat Detroit or a healthy Miami, but man, the future looks incredible. Joey Graham, Chris Humphries (he's finally playing like he as expected coming out of college) and Juan Dixon have really stepped up. Nice pick-up of Luke Jackson. I hope this kid gets another shot.
  9. There's some good bands there like The Marble Index, plus the songs are all great given the songwriter.
  10. My friend is on tonight at midnight. Look a highly 'sauced' drummer named Stu. Hey Whitey, I told Stu yesterday to look for you. Expect him to mention something like this (since he doesn't know your alias: "Hey, is Whitey here from Jambands.ca? Jaimoe sends his regards"... of course he was drunk yesterday.
  11. That was the best episode this year.
  12. It's songs about disasters' date=' Jaimoe, not songs that [i']are disasters. Aloha, Brad Same results.
  13. Songs about disasters. 1. Gordon Lightfoot - Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald 2. The Tragically Hip - Nautical Disaster 3. Stan Rogers - The Mary Ellen Carter 4. Barry Manilow - I Write The Songs 9. 10. 11. 12.
  14. The Stooges were THE HOT SHOW at the recent SXSW fest. Man, I love that band. Balls to the wall rock the way it should be played.
  15. I hope The Stooges come to Canada this summer (and I think they will be).
  16. Iggy talks about rock and roll, David Bowie, Sid Vicious and self-destructive behaviour, plus tells a couple of some good old Stooges stories: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/14028840/the_rolling_stone_interview_iggy_pop
  17. Chacin and a frigid away game vs Detroit. I think I'm glad the game was postponed.
  18. It's not as if those September games are important.
  19. It's not my favourite line-up either, but at least there'll be none of those horribly dated electronic drums championed by Chad Wackerman in the 80's.
  20. Crazy Strings at the Silver Dollar. Try Grossman's on Spadina near the Elmo and Silver Dollar for some blues.
  21. It looks like Pan's will be released May 15th. Here's the specs from the always excellent DVD Active site: http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/pans-labyrinth3.html
  22. I believe it isn't, but will be soon. Del Toro's other Spanish films worth checking out are the ghost-orphanage picture Devil's Backbone and the modern vampire fable Cronos, co-starring the always excellent Ron Perlman.
  23. Sorry about the Let's Dance 'incident'. How about the title track.
  24. Theme: Favourite Studio Tracks featuring Special Guests 1. Johnny Cash - Bridge Over Troubled Water (featuring Fiona Apple) 2. Phish - Roggae (w/ Gordon Stone.. sweet pedal steel solo) 3. 25. really? what's the story here? Google the song. One interesting thing is that their voices are almost identical on the song.
