  1. Oh, Gern sounds like if Captain Beefheart grew up on a farm.
  2. I immediately liked this band when I checked out their myspace page. Gern f has a Howlin' Wolf/Tom Waits kind of grit to his voice.
  3. They play tonight at Sneaky Dee's in Toronto. Velvet may have made other plans to see Jaydawg's thing at the ElMo, but I hope he reads this thread... and the ElMo and Sneaky Dee's aren't that far apart, even by foot.
  4. I'd live in Roncensvalles. It's still dodgy down by Queen Street, but the area itself is excellent. It's way the hell west, but then again, so is Humber.
  5. Normally I'd put this in Rich Stadium, but man, Torii looks really happy after getting beaned in the face. Boris Karloff, eat your heart out:
  6. Fuck that. The MLS draft is riveting.
  7. Harry Shearer is live on MuchMusic's show Much On Demand at 5pm today.
  8. Halladay and Burnett are pitching well. Ohka has generally looked good and Chacin has pitched well at times too. If this continues, the Jays will be really competetive. The bats can't be sluggish forever - they have too much hitting talent.
  9. Plus, Todd can always stumble to and from Little Italy before and after Sneaky Dee's.
  10. I think Sneaky Dee's looks really interesting.

  12. Who cares about awe-inspiring? The kicked Yankee ass in New York. They also beat a rookie pitcher's first ever game and Burnett didn't choke pitching against the always intimidating Yankees.
  13. Check Now and/or Eye Weekly online. There's always something to do and bands to see, especially on a Saturday.
  14. Fuck Leo. He's my favourite college player ever, but Jack's way better.
  15. I thought the episode was excellent. Well done!
  16. It's on The Score at 7pm. It seems that The Score finally has their HD shit together. No more stretched non-upconverted video. Let's hope Leo isn't doing colour tonight.
  17. The NBA playoffs always suffer from flow problems with far too many days off between games. Three or four networks fighting for rights kills the momentum.
  18. Kidd will play, unless his son has his cell-phone and gave it to his estranged wife.
  19. Jack's guitar solo at the end smashed my face in just now.
  20. BTW, I believe the bag-pipes is the mystery instrument.
  21. I fucking love that new single!!!!
  22. I don't know if I'm working, going to a wedding, on vacation or that I may even be deathly ill in June, but I'm going to the Toronto show.
  23. The Raptors game was ugly last night, but exciting all the way. Man, both teams are playing some terrible offense. I can't wait until the Raptors start to play their game.
