  1. The Comedy Network repeats the hell out of Colbert. The first airing is at 11:30 and then again at 2:00am. Both Stewart and Colbert's shows will air again on Thursday morning too. CTV airs both shows starting at 12:05, so yes, the early airings will conflict with Letterman.
  2. They aren't playing together. I believe Neil is just being interviewed. I'm really looking forward to seeing The Hold Steady. The last time I caught them on Letterman doing "Stuck Between Stations" made me an immediate fan.
  3. I can't believe how different - and sinister - Andy looks in that mug shot. He could be the next Joker.

    BURGERS!

I got a pack of 4 Wolfe Island bison burgers for $7 last Saturday at the Market.
  5. I guess that new BNL's children's album will continue to be a hot seller.
  6. He's been tested for more things than just 'roids.
  7. Stewart still can be great though every so often. I wish Samantha Bee and Jason Jones were on more.
  8. It looks like I won't be seeing him walking with his young family in my neighbourhood any time soon.

    BURGERS!

They are really lean even for bison burgers, but really tasty.
  10. Stewart has lost too much talent to compete with Colbert, and Colbert is one of them.
  11. Townshend can be a "baby", self-rightous, arrogant, a prick, funny, insightful, thought-provoking, challenging and a pop culture historian. All this amounts to the spokesman for his generation.
  12. Hell, just key in on Townshend. Pete is one of the few guitarists of his era (Jeff Beck also comes to mind) that has over-hauled his style over the decades. Pete's lead playing is quite intricate while his acoustic and over-driven strums remain stunningly powerful.
  13. The Colbert Report is more consistent and far funnier than The Daily Show and this episode looks like another winner: Rush to perform 'Tom Sawyer' on 'The Colbert Report' Wednesday By Jake Coyle, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Tue Jul 15, 11:57 AM PDT NEW YORK - Rush will be appearing on "The Colbert Report," and it's not Limbaugh. The iconic Canadian rock band, which hasn't performed on U.S. television in more than three decades, will play their classic "Tom Sawyer" on the Comedy Central show Wednesday. The Geddy Lee-led trio, which is currently on tour, hasn't played on U.S. television since 1975. Rush is only the latest act to perform on "The Report," which has steadily edged closer to "Ed Sullivan Show" territory. With increasingly frequent musical performances, "The Report" has grown a variety-show impulse, evident in other upcoming bookings.

    BURGERS!

I had a Wolfe Island bison burger yesterday - picked up a 4-pack at the Kingston Farmer's Market on Saturday. The burger was delicious.
  15. Give it up for T-Bone Burnett! Sounds like an interesting show and an even more interesting crowd.
  16. Yep, I'd stay there. You can walk it or take the Bathurst streetcar north for a five minute ride to Dundas Street. The hotel is in a good part of town right near the Wheat Sheaf and a few more pubs and restaurants. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g155019-d183062-Reviews-Travelodge_Toronto_Downtown_West-Toronto_Ontario.html
  17. I'm looking forward to seeing The Acorn at the Wolfe Island Fest.
  18. The Roger & Pete shows are only good if Pete is in form. Unfortuately, Roger is looking like an aged Diane Keaton and his vocals get shredded pretty quickly in concert. But for that price, seeing Townshend and his guitar will be well worth it, although not at $150.
  19. Anyone catch TV on the Radio?
  20. Seems like an entertaining line-up minus one band paying tribure to one of the most important rock bands ever. I'm interested, even if they have been on life-support since that fateful day in 1978.
  21. It airs at 9pm this Thursday night. I believe this show was recorded on July 12th. Anyway, the line-up is "mostly" appropriate: Pearl Jam, The Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips, Tenacious D (The Who always had overt comic elements)... and Incubus? I hope the crowd went "Joe Jackson opening for The Who in Toronto" on those fuckers. Roger and Pete round everything out with 8 vintage Who tunes. Zak Starkey is on drums and Paulo Palladino resumes trying to fill The Ox's shoes. Here's a link to the photos and small write-ups of the performances: http://www.rollingstone.com/photos/gallery/21798294/vh1_rock_honors_2008_pearl_jam_f Worth noting is that Supergrass' Gaz Coombes does lead vocals with The Foos on "Bargain" and The Foos do the greatest live Who song "Young Man Blues". Oh yeah, Lips drummer Kliph Spurlock destroys his kit. I would have liked to see Paul Weller somewhere on the bill and maybe some younger bands, Supergrass should have been invited as well as Oasis, but it's a decent line-up.
  22. Welcome to life on a pre-taped show. Emery was already aware that question was coming probably due to a pre-interview. OTR rarely breaks a story; most end up or are designed to air only on TSN's SportsCentre.
  23. A 5th rounder for Hollweg means nothing in the whole scheme of questionable moves in this off-season. One thing for sure is that Ryan will be busy protecting the softest team ever to lace up the blades.
  24. I believe you mean Control, the life and death story of lead singer Ian Curtis.
