  1. I can't agree again. I would agree - if we were talking about the Leafs, or the Habs, and an 82 game season. We're talking about the best players in the world picked for their skill, their track record, their ability to come up big when it matters. They could have played a better game. They could have given up fewer chances, made bigger saves, and scored more goals. We're not talking about my neighbours peewee team.
  2. Saying "I thought Canada played a good game" is a bad argument IMO. Sure - at times they looked good. And at times they looked aweful - and guess what, those times that they looked aweful the US scored. Brodeur's poke check. His swat of the puck. Sidney ith a shitting blocking attempt. Perry on the empty netter. Pronger most of the time giving it away. Many shifts they looked dominate - but thats not good enoguh. Its a 60 minute game and they were not tuned in for a full 60 minutes. You take a shift off, they score, Canada loses. Thats not a good game. You don't get points for effort (and even if you did there were players that wouldn't get them).
  3. exactly. there is no "difficulty multiplier" - this ain't ski jumping. put the fucking puck in the net.
  4. Pronger sucked. Perry looked bad on that. Someone borrowed Broduer's pads and equipment. And please, for the love of hockey, put Iginla back up with Crosby. 3 goals in 2 periods in game one. Why are they still looking for the proper winger top play on the top line? Next up - luongo.

    Furthur

COuple clips from a Bobby interview... How long do you expect Furthur to go on? And let me also ask what this means for Ratdog and Phil Lesh & Friends & The Dead? Are all those configurations gone? Will they re-appear? “Well, Furthur’s going to be around for a while, I expect. It’s working well. And so all those other configurations are going to be fighting for time, ‘cause right now, this is our hot hand. Ratdog for me, I just got done doing a couple weeks in Jamaica with Ratdog. And that’s cooking, but I can bring that out whenever, and I will. But right now this is what I’m doing, so this is where my interests and intent are http://blogs.mcall.com/lehighvalleymusic/2010/02/contacting-the-dead-bob-weir-talks-about-going-furthur-with-phil-lesh.html
  6. Anyone in Toronto that hasn't left yet? I don't need a ride - but I have other people's tickets and shit came up at work... might be late. Can anyone help me? I'll cab the tickets over ASAP. I'm going to have some really pissed off friends!
  7. Thanks for the offer J ... we may see you there for a :chug: Peace' date=' Mark [/quote'] I'd go early if I was you. They'll probably be kicked out long before sound check...
  8. unbroken was epic - but it was epic in a go the opera and look down at the performers through whatever those little glasses you use at the opera are. Beatiful tunes and performed well. I guess I just miss the old formula that worked so well as far as first set vs. second set, openers, closers, ballads. Say what you will about 90s dead (or 80s really) but the formula worked. I think it would have been a bit more out of hand last nigth with the formula...
  9. It was a snoozer. Didn't have to be - if they would have done the tunes in a different order. (ie. open second set with China-Rider, instead of UJB). The room was really big - lots of space, they say 4800 capaciy, but I'd guess they could fit 8000 comfortably - and no booze for sale. That combined with the song order (if not song choice) made it really hard to get the crowd going. It was actually one of those shows were it would have been beautiful from a lazy boy. It was like Phil was trying to show off the compositions for the ivey leaguers.
  10. Awesome read. I wonder often though - how much was serious business acuman vs. the path of least resistance.
  11. 2 tix for Ithaca for sale... going on virtual tour! Kidding.. but it is great, hope they do more of these.

    pickup trucks

If you're going new I'd go Toyota for sure and buy from downtown Toronto. 1. the trucks haven't been recalled. 2. Toyota is hurting 3. every Toyota dealer has a quota of trucks (or any model) they have to take and downtown Toronto dealers sell about ZERO a year All that combined should get you a pretty good deal. I have a friend working on getting one right now... and all that advice comes from him.

    XM Sirius

$4.99/month for 3 months... just told them it wasn't worth more then that to me - they first tried $7.99/month for the year, but paid at once and I said no... check out redflagdeals.com forum - it'll give you the goods. Last time I got $4.99/month for 6 months, then forgot and paid full price for 3 months and now back down to $4.99 g'luck - and don't forget to tell them you love the Dead

    XM Sirius

I'm sure there's lot of subscribers on here... I just renewed but told them it wasn't worth $15/month to me, and I'd pay $4.99/month. Took 15 minutes but they agreed eventually. More importantly, when she asked "is there anything else" I said, if you take comments, you can note that its the GD channel that signed me up and keeps me signed up. To my surprise she actually wrote (well typed) it down... next time I'm going to be more specific and tell them it was the simulcast dead shows that signed me up. Virtual Tour!
  15. I think Russo keeps it moving a little more (but sometimes its too fast for Bobby to pick up the teleprompter...)

  17. sure enough wharf rat = goose bumps
  18. And one more... the Wharf is going to be great (haven't listened yet) but that was for sure one of the highlights... JK kills it.

    Wanee

Anyone been to this? Thoughts? The line up looks great for me... especially when they add Furthur at the last minute. Is the set up good? Is it friendly? Is it hot there come April?

  24. What the fuck are you talking about? Your first post in the official 2009/10 Raptors Fan Forum thread! Congrats!
  25. Friendly - or anyone for that matter - Is there a spot that was helpful to Jesse or that is doing good research that donations can be made to? Google brings up many, but if there were places that were helpful to Jesse we would like to make a donation on his behalf.
