  1. agreed.. the HeavyMTL lineup is weak compared to two years ago.. but aren't they still confirming the lineup? I'm still hoping that there's a chance we'll see Metallica and Anthrax join that bill they do have Testament on the undercard though.. so there is that.

windows guru Paul Thurrott published these methods for a full 100% clean install using the upgrade media. I have purchased the Windows 7 upgrade but I have yet to install it so I can't comment as to how easy or effective these methods are: http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/clean_install_upgrade_media.asp

  9. at the Metallica show in Ottawa back in November I totally called this.. I swear.. I have witnesses: from http://www.metallica.com/index.asp?item=602847 The Big Four 12/14/2009 Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax . . . the rumors are true! You've been posting and chatting about it for months and we're here now to confirm it . . . Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax will all share the same stage for the first time EVER! Look for the four of us at the Sonisphere shows in Warsaw, Poland and Prague, Czech Republic on June 16 and 19, 2010 with a few more of the festival dates still in the works, you can be sure these shows won't be the only ones. In the words of Lars: "Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time...what a mindfuck! Bring it on!" What more can we say?? For more info, check out the Sonisphere Festivals site. "Official" press release below: * METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH AND ANTHRAX TO PERFORM TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY * * THE BIG FOUR CONFIRMED FOR SONISPHERE POLAND AND CZECH REPUBLIC * * MORE BIG FOUR APPEARANCES AT SONISPHERE SHOWS PLANNED * The world wide web has been abound with speculation on a possible "BIG FOUR" tour for several months. Now, SONISPHERE can exclusively reveal that METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will play together for the first time in history, in a move that will have metalheads across the globe frenzied with excitement. Says LARS ULRICH/METALLICA of this historic announcement: "Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time...what a mindfuck! Bring it on!" "It's about fucking time this happened," declares SLAYER's KERRY KING. "and about time the fans finally get what they want. This is fucking awesome." ANTHRAX guitarist SCOTT IAN agrees, commenting on the enormity of the announcement. "People have been talking about these four bands playing together since 1984. That's twenty-six years of expectation!!! And the thing is, I believe not only will we live up to the expectations, we will shatter them!! No other four bands as influential as the four of us have ever done this. Imagine if The Beatles, Stones, The Who and Zeppelin had done shows? Or Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead? Well, I may be getting into some rarified air here but as a fan, that's how big I feel this is." These four legendary acts broke out of the underground thrash movement to dominate the metal world in the 1980s, selling millions of records and packing arenas across the globe. The metal giants have never before all shared the same stage, despite huge demand. But on 16th June 2010, METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will take to the SONISPHERE stage at Bemowo Airport, Poland, to make the dreams of headbangers the world over become a reality. A second Big Four appearance is planned for SONISPHERE CZECH REPUBLIC three days later, with more SONISPHERE shows featuring the awesome combo to be announced in the coming days and weeks. "This is a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity for Heavy Metal "Fans" to see the four greatest Heavy Metal "Bands" in American History back together on one stage" concludes MEGADETH mainman DAVE MUSTAINE. "If there are any heads left at the end of this Festival that haven't banged, they don't belong there." Tickets available from www.sonispherefestivals.com
  10. Dylan's Must Be Santa is great.. though every time I hear it I think that it'd be even better if it was done as a duet with Tom Waits
  11. The Blues 106 and Jazz 106 Christmas editions on Chez 106. Jazz is my favourite delivery medium for Christmas music (thanks to Brian and his Christmas shows), this time every I mourn not only the loss of those two shows from the airwaves, but now the loss of Brian Murphy himself. He did turn me onto some amazing records though, ones that fill me with joy so though I miss him and his shows, it's not an unhappy time at all.
  12. the band had been together for close to 20 years at this point, so I'd hope they'd be tight by that point listening now.. pretty smokin so far.. great find Chameleon!
  13. the invite I got took a day before I got it (that or the person sent it to me sent it a lot later than she said she did)
  14. is anyone even using it? I've got a wave account but I've yet to actually do anything with it
  15. TV - yes cable - no satellite - yes subscription with a satellite television provider - I refuse to comment
  16. I got an invite this morning.. no clue how I'm going to use it though
  17. you totally have my vote man! good luck
  18. what bums me out is that I think they could have put out at least one more killer album if they hired Rick Rubin (as proven by his work with Metallica, among others). but agreed.. if there is no Steven Tyler (or Joe Perry.. or Tom Hamilton but I'm biased with that one) then they should just call it a day. anyone wanting to start a poll on how many ballads will be on the Brand Tyler solo album? My vote goes for all but two songs.
  19. I sense a new season of Rock Star...
  20. so I'm now hearing that Scotiabank will mail out vouchers to ticket holders. My buddy Casey contacted Scotiabank place and that's what they told him. Just wanted to add to the rumour mill.
  21. I played football while in high school, not for a high school team (our high school didn't have a football team) but part of an outside minor league. now I practice kendo (Japanese sword fighting). It's not a team sport, but it's organized, does that count?
