  1. U of O evidently takes new patients on a regular basis. I am going to try there. I've been to see Dr. Rothstein at the Elgin walk-in and she is looney tunes! Dr.Poliga (also Elgin) is fine but fast.
  2. Café Santropol. Their sandwiches will change your life and I'm certain you could get all the veganism you wanted there.
  3. In my email quarantine at work today there's a message with the subject line "Are you still with short ramrod? ;)" My favorites are the ones that say things like "It's me, Sanchez" or the nonsensical keywords lines like "not or urethra"
  4. It was weaker than usual I thought. The flow was a bit off.
  5. By the golden dogs? Regardless, everyone stop fellating zero and start flogging him to ask our Slip questions.
  6. Today I did: 1 clove of minced garlic 1 green chilie 1 tsp red chilie powder handful of mushrooms 3 green onions can on tuna Fry the garlic and chilie in half the butter you would normally stir into the mix at the end. reduce and add the rest of the milk and butter. Then toss with the pasta.
  7. Please commend him for talking on a bluetooth, smoking a cigarette and drinking a latte all at the same time after bluesfest. Why don't you go out on a limb and ask him whether he considered a move to Montreal also when the Barr Bros. did?
  8. Meh, not much of a review and that axe he's grinding could cut another, more expensive axe in half given the blade. I think it speaks more to a general lack of substance on either Indie or Jam music to really give it much more than a passing glance. I see they've got an RSS feed to celebrity gossip on the front page so that's always a sign of true journalistic integrity.

    Second Life

What is so big about a 3d program where you walk around and talk to characters? Like, what do you actually do there and how come everywhere I look people are talking about this "game" if you can call it that?
  10. Gelatin is essentially the collagen found in bone marrow as M.O.B.E says but also in ligaments, connective tissue and skin. See WIkipedia for a full explanation of it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelatin
  11. Me too. I love it. The Built to Spill thing is almost pay it forward because I didn't take notice until seein gthe slip cover Carry the Zero and others.

    BEER!!

It's on tap at the Manx. Watch out, I found out that the draught version's alcohol % ranges from 6 - 10% depending on the batch!

    Sexism

According to the site you ought to try applying for the job of panel beater.
  14. Yeah, and decides...who wants to work for a firm that, in 2006, fires people like that anonymously. NGOs rarely if ever let people go. The government never lets people go either. So if security is your bag and you want a change take a look there....Corporate folk of any kind are welcome at charities to help beat back all the lazy hippies who have no common sense.
  15. The Tea Plantations on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu are really something. Munnar was one of the most peaceful places on earth where you looked forward to getting up at 5:00 and walking an hour up a mountain by yourself to see an awe-inspiring sunrise. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
  16. Larry and his ongoing breast obsession...fantastic theme. [mouse runs across the floor] "Uh! Tit Mouse! Tit Mouse!" Larry David: Have you ever played telephone before? You don't even know how to play telephone, do you? Cheryl: I *do* know how to play telephone. Larry David: Oh, do you? Cheryl: Yeah, but I usually play the "G" version. It's usually something like, "Susie lives down the lane." Larry David: The kid didn't say "Susie lives down the lane," he said "I love tits!"
  17. Tenenbaum you are a jew, and every Jew I know loves this show. I think being Jewish and watching this show is worth more Jew points than going to every high holiday service.
  18. "The guy wanted 3 steps and I said nah fuck that, and I got 4 mahfuckin' steps in here" The Crazy Eyes episode is in my top 3.
  19. Ok, here goes. There's no middle ground with this show. Some people don't find it funny, some laugh politely but think "meh". Some people detest Larry's Character and some, like me, hope to one day become Larry David. I don't know that there's a formula but if so, I think it's one part dialog and one part delivery. Take the Crazy Eyes Killah episode. That whole freestyle is evidently improvised, as is Larry suggestion that there's one too many "fucks" and "bitch" is a better fit. Or what about the episode where Larry visits the masseuse who asks "would you like me to finish you off?" and proceeds to give him a handjob. His terrified face, combined with "puh puh puh pots...pots...stop!". Anyway if you're a fan you know what I'm talking about, and you're as excited as I am to know that they're filming a sixth season at the moment that airs in the new year. If you're not a fan you can go fuck yourself you sicko, four-eyed fuck. Sincerely, "Bald Asshole"
  20. I took a long hiatus from Havarti because it was too soft and not stron g enough. I pcked some up the other day though and it's still enjoyable...but it looked like they got rid of the dill version which was my favorite. Here's a cool cheese shot from a market in france that we went to. Most of these cheeses were semi-soft washed rind raw cheeses. Like a firm brie but with a nice sharp tang from the unpasteurized milk.
  21. I've done Brad's thing with Pesto and it's pretty good. MarcO I like how you think. Incidentally my franco-Ontarien roommate in university would pull his shirt up over his nose anytime someone made KD and tuna. or even just opened a can of tuna for some other reason. Another favorite of mine is to buy the really really good tuna in olive oil, add s&p and layer it on toast with sauerkraut and gruyere and broil it until the cheese melts. Kind of a Tuna Reuben I guess.

    Chicken Remnants

Fascinating (well, if you've read this far in the thread and are really engaged in stock-making) thread on eGullet about whether to press on the solids as you strain them out of your stock. http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?showtopic=95743
  23. I need some, would like recommendations and either an online store or a place in Ottawa to check some out at.
