SolarGarlic
Outlaw Social's "Dry Bones" A fresh take on traditional string music (with an electric guitar tossed in for good measure). Victoria based and likely new to the Eastern folks. Check out their site...

Great band, although not new to this easterner I've made some mixes that included some songs from their 'Seven Song EP'.Check out some new music! (c-towns thread) Still wishing they make their way this way, I'd love to catch a live show. Disagree with me if you like (ahem New Rider)' date=' I don't care, The Edge is one of the greatest guitar players ever.[/quote'] I like that album and some of their early works. "All I Want is You" is beautiful with great Edge guitar. As a guitarist, The Edge is certainly interesting. I love how he gets power out of very few notes and riffs. Minimalist guitarists will always remain in the shawdows of shredders, but they don't deserve to be.
Thorgnor
word to minimalism, less notes, more tension. I like some of their earlier stuff but I'm now at a loss... I think they went way downhill after the whole mega-success thing happened. Most of what came before Lemon was alright. minimalism good Edited February 1, 2009 by Guest
