Goalie deal - yes Roloson was available at the trade deadline. But does anyone think that Roloson vs Emery would have saved the Sens?? They made far to many fundamental mistakes and hung their goalie out to dry. No deadline deal could have saved them from Buffalo exploiting their mistakes.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the Roloson deal only looks good on Edmonton in hindsight. It's not like Oiler fans were jumping up and down shouting "We're gonna win the cup!" when it happened.

I still love ya guys! It's going to be a long year though! I'm going to be really sick of this word by the end of it: Parity. Oh well, maybe I'll actually watch some other teams this year on the ol' Center ice package... Chicago 8 - 6 Nashville! Crazy shit!

Too bad the whole 3 lines of terror didn't materialize... going to have to work hard to find a new team identity, and to realize that Pizza's not going to be on the menu for the home games as much. It'd be nice to get Corvo back, but if we really need one defencemen that much, it really does say something about the team... still we'll be competative... lots of emotions and big games to start the season, but in the New NHL, almost everygame is against a rival or measuring stick of some point...

Maybe they're just playing to save strength for the end of the year this time... yeah that's it... taking it easy now so they'll have money in the bank for later... still... YOU GOTTA ATLEAST SCORE ON THE LEAVES!

LOL ... that's the kind of strategy that i've heard so many Sens fans slag other teams for taking. That was a good laugh ... something the Sens should be for most of the season as long as Muckler's around. Why have they not gotten rid of him??? It took them wayy too long to get rid of Jacques Martin as well (look at the lovely hockey he's generating in Florida now ... yuck!) The Sens getting rid of Muckler will do them good, just like the Leafs FINALLY getting rid of Quinn :)

Certainly is like watching a whole different team this year... 0-0 with the Flames going to the third... but the skill has definately gone down a few notches for the Sens this year... Skating over loose pucks... letting forchecking just skate past the defence to get control of the puck on the defensive end... clogging up the front of the net at the expense of not covering the opposing defencemen in the defensive zone... and just very little 'in-syncness' for the team... Calgary doesn't look too much better... no one can put the puck in the net, nor does it look like they're trying too hard... oh yeah... Enjoy that hit from Paneuf on Hamel... it'll be on highlight packs for years!

Last year was a special thing... this year is going to be a challenge... even to get into the playoffs... still it's going to fun... 2nd youngest team in the league still, so when Fisher, Vermette, Eaves, and Meszaros are ready to grow up, we'll be back on top! Knock on wood.

That was an exciting game, considering it was scoreless for 50 minutes +. The Sens D combos looked a little more 'comfortable' last night. Bonehead play by Schaefer against the boards that lead to the goal. He's typically great along the boards, but he really needs to pick his spots better.

Yeah, that's why I'm saying November is when they'll even start to turn it around. They'll put Gerber in net... the Chemistry 'gained' by the defence in the last game will be stagnet, or decline as Gerber will test their confidence, and they'll have another tough game... yikes... against the Habs. Maybe we'll get some lucky bounces, but it seemed even when we did get some against Calgary, there was no 'skill' to finish things off. They'll get going eventaully, but they'll be climbing back into the crowd this year instead of surfing ahead of it like they did last year. They would of been doing that anyways with their empty schedule for October, so it's not so bad... just magnifying how much each loss seems... and it won't get any easier until November when there's actually teams (other than the Leafs), that we regularly beat last year.
