MoMack
Who does the bluegrass version of Gin and Juice that floats around?
Lazlo
I thinks it's the Gourds but I'm probably wrong.
CodyBanks
No its not the Gourds. It was Phish.
TheSloth
Aaaaaah one of the best internet screw ups of all times - Cody is just messing with you, it was The Gourds. The whole mixup started up because the originators of the song were Dre, Snoop and a guy using the name Phish.

CodyBanks
Speaking of screw ups, what you been doing Sloth? Either way check out the Gourds version.
TheSloth
Speaking of screw ups, what you been doing Sloth? That's a pretty poignant statement right about now - in a nutshell I've got a lot of free time on my hands and will continue to have a lot of free time until Feb 21st - could be worse. ggrtrhhrtgg
actually, I think it was SCI
StoneMtn
I'm pretty sure that the version MoMack is asking about was the Gourds. The .mp3 is mislabeled all over the net.SCI also does Gin and Juice, though.

YearsAlongTheSea
SCI also does Gin and Juice, though.String Cheese will cover most anything that may subliminally remind you of phish.More to come on SCI conspricary theories.

The .mp3 is mislabeled all over the net.SCI also does Gin and Juice, though. Are you sure? I'm almost positive they don't, and I just checked zzyzx's SCI stats page, and he doesn't have a listing for that song.
StoneMtn
Actually, I'm not sure. I thought SCI also did it, but I can't remember when. I just did a quick search, and I think you're right that they haven't played it.I think I may have fallen prey to that same mislabelling problem. I think I had a copy of Gin and Juice in .mp3 allegedly by SCI, but I'll bet that one was also The Gourds.

I've seen that same mp3 labeled as being by each of Phish, SCI, The Gourds, Barenaked Ladies and Ween, just to name the ones off the top of my head. backbacon
I've seen it labelled as being by Blues Traveller, Dave Matthews, and Phish. (A callaboration, if you will..) I'm pretty sure that's bang on.
Esau
It's the Gourds. They have a video in their yahoo group of Snoop checking out their take on it. They also used to have the story behind the mix up on their website but I don't see it there anymore. Being labeled as Phish back in the early napster/kazaa days is sorta what brought them into the light of the jam scene. Although, not a jamband.Sadly, I hear thats all people ever scream for at their shows, making for a very annoying time if you are actually into their music beyond the amazing covers they do. 'Gin & Juice' being probally their most popular, but certianly not their best, they do alot of great covers & very well at that. 'I'm going down' (Springsteen) is probally my favourite.
