bradm
I've done that once or twice when I've been in Montreal on a Saturday through dinner: I check in to the hotel, duck to the nearest store for a some beers and bring them back to the hotel, then to Schwartz's for a couple of sandwiches to go, then back to the hotel for sandwiches + beer. Mmmmmm...Aloha,Brad
YearsAlongTheSea
Years, if you want the meat, go to Janos on St. Laurent (near Duluth) and order the mixed platter. Chicken, beef, pork and rabbit all cooked on the grill, served with a side of fries. Cholesterol central.Giggidy-Giggidy, aaaaaaa-all-right. bradm
I wonder about the kid's menu (if they have one). If you order the kid's-sized meat platter, do they use baby versions of all the animals: chicks, calves, piglets, and bunnies?Aloha,Brad

AdamH
there is also cafe santropol, at the corner of duluth and st. urbain...it has a pretty good atmosphere and good soups and monster funky sandwichesHighly recommend Santropol. The Thai express across from Le Swimming is good and cheap, the noodle place nearby there is so-so but there's alot of options I guess. If money is no object go to Toque! It's in my Top 3 best meals ever.

snarfmaster C
- Le Jardin du Cari: on st. viateur about 5 doors in from St. Laurent, north side. Great Gyanan food (roti-curry). Get the chickpea and potato roti wit' de pumpkin' and a side of potato balls. Great dinner for well under 10 bux. wow -- thanks so much for the recommendation! incredible meal and so cheap thanks! YearsAlongTheSea
Yeah. I've not been that satisfied with a meat-free meal in a long time. But, "it's been a long time coming."

YearsAlongTheSea
Yeah, I hold food and music on equal pedistools. You need to eat to dance and dance to eat. It's a vicious cycle of hunger and getting down.
