[color:blue]I now bring you this breaking news from the NBA...

Yao Ming's season reportedly is over.

KRIV-TV in Houston and The Houston Chronicle are reporting that Yao has a stress fracture in his left foot and the Rockets are expected to announce he will have season-ending surgery later Tuesday.

The team has scheduled an afternoon news conference.

Houston, currently on a 12-game winning streak, is in fourth place in the Southwest Division. The streak followed a loss in the one game that Yao has missed all season.

The 7-foot-6 Yao is averaging 22.0 points and 10.8 rebounds in 55 games this season.

greatest quote i heard on the radio today was healy in regards to Belak (old quote) "the guy who cleans the strip of ice before the shoot-out was getting more ice time this year than Belak"

I also happened to hear Bryan Campbell on the Buffalo station asking the fans not to boo him when he comes back to play.

The Montreal Canadiens have not completed a deal yet but an Atlanta source tells us they are extremely close and it looks like unless the Senators made an offer that “knocks the socks of Don Waddell†all signs point to a deal getting done soon.

Sources tell TNL the Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms with the Atlanta Thrashers in a deal to acquire Marian Hossa. Details will be up soon. As we talked about earlier Hedberg may be included in the deal.We are told the Montreal Canadiens dealing Cristobal Huet may have been due to the fact that the Atlanta Thrashers wanted to throw in goaltender Johan Hedberg in the deal with Hossa. The Canadiens are closing in on a deal with the Thrashers and it looks like it could be Hossa and Hedberg on the way to the Montreal.

UPDATE 1:31PM: We're told the Ottawa Senators have made a big offer to the Thrashers for Hossa at the last second and that is the hold up. The Sens may still be in this. The tables keep turning, stay tuned.
