SolarGarlic
Damn, wild finish to the Calgary/San Jose game. IF the Flames are gonna be like that every night I don't think my heart can take it...They did get some breaks tonight but here's hoping for a little forward momentum!! Kanada Kev
First night of the playoffs and I'm already exhausted. Gotta get some rest. Now work is getting in the way Predictions for tonight? MTL 5 BOS 1 DET 3 NSH 1 ANA 2 DAL 1 SJ 4 CAL 2 (this should be a killer with no day off after last night )
dave-O
Minny-Colorado was easily the best hockey of the night IMO. Glad TSN showed the entire thing on its alternate feed. There was no comparison between the speed and intensity of the West games vs the East games last night. Too bad they start so damned late for me here in Atlantic time... Kanada Kev
Since the MIN/COL game ran over, it was funny that when you pulled up the description of what was airing it read "Women's Hockey"!!!
Guest Low Roller
No Western Conf hockey for me sadly, as the games don't start until 3am. Maybe on the week-end I'll watch!

Hal Johnson
Ever notice that everytime you play a season in EA sports 1 or 2 crap teams always finish really high in the standings? Like Columbus in the west, or Florida in the east? Always makes me angry.

ollie
Puts our petty squabbling into perspective. Ouch.Thoresen Facing Possible Surgery Philadelphia left wing Patrick Thoresen suffered a ruptured testicle in the third period of tonight's 5-4 Caps' victory when he was struck by Mike Green's power play slap shot.Thoresen went down and stayed down, effectively giving the Caps a two-man advantage. Green scored moments later as Thoresen writhed on the ice in pain. After the game, Philadelphia General Manager Paul Holmgren said Thoresen was en route to the hospital and was facing possible surgery.
AD
he was released from hospital and is likely to play the next game, according to tsn. that, along with volchenkov's head wound, is the essence of dedication. holy smokes.
Kanada Kev
Ouch ... crossed my legs as soon as i read that Was he not wearing a cup? Wonder if it shattered too. He's got ball! To hear of what some players go through and still continue to play it baffles me (broken legs even!) Some of the toughest athletes around.
Kanada Kev
Right on ... Teemu scored to finally get the Ducks to beat Turco. Wonder if they can grab a split before heading to Dallas.
Kanada Kev
5-2 Dallas now ... nope, it ain't gonna happen. Dallas is going up 2-0 for sure and they are deserving of it from their play in this period for sure!
dave-O
The defending champs completely no-showed the first two games, except for a handful of minutes of sustained pressure. Tons of undisciplined play too. This series is far from over, but Dallas is looking very strong. The Thoresen injury was especially brutal. Guy was writhing around in pain on ice and the refs let the play go until the Caps scored! Poor bastard, he didn't dress today.
