AD
Oh joy...winterlseep got added.and I have a free festival pass.you made me very happy.Well it's not known if your festival pass will get you into any of the club shows in the Bluesfest Byward part of the event (that's what that big list I posted is). If Wintersleep is on the big outdoor stage it's likely a free show. But if they're in a club you'd likely have to pay a cover / ticket charge. We'll see for sure when the schedule and ticketing information is released on Wednesday

DevO
Well I for one am very excited by what's going on, and will probably catch a lot of the free stuff in the free tent as it looks like the headliners will be strong. Hope to catch some of the club shows too if they aren't too pricey. A little freaked out by how few band names I actually recognize on there, and even fewer whose music I've actually heard!I'd like to see:George Clinton & the P-Funk AllstarsUnited Steelworkers of MontrealLee Scratch PerryKid KoalaSerena Rydera DJ set by Speech of Arrested DevelopmentMatt MaysWintersleepThunderheistElliot BroodRJD2Great Lake SwimmersGift of GabI'm sure there tons of other good ones that I don't know about. Big Wooly Mammoth
just checked out the actual lineup. a free p-funk show that I can walk to from home. my kids would definitely dig that show. but do i want to miss ben harper? seen him many times. but this is with the relentless 7. and the wife is a huge fan. i know she won't be missing him.on another note. peter murphy is actually playing at midnight on thursday, at mavericks. will be going to that show. I'm flying to Beijing the next day. so can be tired on the plane.

DBOC
I'm really, really excited for this as well. I didn't want to get too excited until I could see the schedule. That most shows are happening after bluesfest and BSS not clashing with too much when they play is great. Alberta Cross at midnight on the Sunday night at the Rainbow is what I am most excited for. The website for this though provides little information. Since this is directly funded by the feds, maybe no charges at the doors?
AD
The website for this though provides little information. Since this is directly funded by the feds, maybe no charges at the doors?Shawn Scallen, Ottawa promoter/booker/guru who is involved with this event said this on punkottawa:the byward outdoor stage is freethe capital shows will have a hard ticket - ie you have to paywe're planning on having bluesfest tickets get you into the over venues (space permitting), or paying cover at the first venue you go to and getting into any other venues that night (space permitting)this should all be confirmed and announced soonthat 'space permitting' thing is ridiculous though - like Mavericks is the ideal venue for Basia Bulat and Great Lake Swimmers on the same night. Imagine the lineup for that. Stupid scheduling. Lots of other beefs as well but oh well.

Anyway looks like one of these $10 or $12 wristbands gets you into all of the clubs on the day that you buy it.. Which is a great deal!
