Slovakia has the number one PP, the number one PK and a hot goaltender, you may not have to feel sorry them (........I think Canada is going to crush them but I've been wrong all tournament)

My sentiments exactly. I left a tad later than I wanted, just after the game started. A quick drive down the Parkway, no traffic and get home in 12 mins max. 6-0?!?!?!

Was Canada looking too far ahead? The careful-dontmakeamistake strategy looked perfect for the longest time but they never finished enough to finish it off. It worked well enough in the end but there were timid moments, similar to the Switzerland game.

I thought the Slovaks played a fucking great game. Kudos to them. They gave the Can-boys the boards and collapsed the middle. That was some great prep by the Slovakian coaches. Anyone else notice how high the Canadians shot on Jaro tonight? That took me by surprise but I guess when you have d-men down low clearing rebounds you might as well aim up. I was very impressed.

Sunday is going to be interesting because the US has so much speed they will want to utilize the outside but that plays into Canada's strengths and I think they learned something from what happened last time. They might use what the Slovaks taught them tonight but that could also be their undoing....in my honest opinion. I dont think they have the personnel for that.

This could end up being a classic.

I don't know much, but after the first period I told phorbesie that the Slovaks were gonna keep pummelling the Canadians and by the third period they'll do anything to avoid getting hit, passing the puck too soon and that sort of thing, and that the Slovaks would capitalise then.

And that's what happened, right?

If the last Canada/US game had different goalies the outcome woulda been different, but it worked out quite well for Canada in the end. Certainly if they play like they did against Russia, Canada will beat the US, if they play like they did last night, well that's a bit worrisome.
