YearsAlongTheSea
I would love a ticket but I don't know if I can justify, or swing, $125 for this. I'll think about it and hopefully it's still around if/when I make my mind up...

deranger
I am so fucking stoked for this show. I cannot fuckin wait to see this. For my money, Roger Waters is a musical and artist genius. I have never seen, nor will I ever see again, anything like the concert I'm going to see on Weds. Did I mention I was fucking stoked? And thanks Kev for the links, very cool. Edited September 10, 2010 by Guest

Kanada Kev
More Roger ... time to prime http://bit.ly/a5nMze Amused to Death further explores Waters’ disillusionment with modern Western society, focusing specifically on the influence of television and the mass media. The album was inspired by the book Amusing Ourselves to Death, a critique of television and its related culture by Neil Postman. Continuing Waters’ trend of having well known guest guitarists featured on his solo albums, Amused to Death features Jeff Beck on lead guitar. Like every studio album Roger Waters has recorded since The Dark Side of the Moon, Amused to Death is a concept album. This one is organised loosely around the idea of a monkey randomly switching channels on a television, but explores numerous political and social themes, including critiques of the First Gulf War in “The Bravery of Being Out of Range†and “Perfect Senseâ€, in which famed sportscaster Marv Albert narrates a war as if it were a basketball game, and a massive choir sings their “global anthemâ€: Can’t you see It all makes perfect sense Expressed in dollars and cents Pounds, shillings, and pence (Wikipedia) mp3@320CBR Tracklist: 1. “The Ballad of Bill Hubbard†– 4:19 2. “What God Wants, Part I†– 6:00 3. “Perfect Sense, Part I†– 4:16 4. “Perfect Sense, Part II†– 2:50 5. “The Bravery of Being Out of Range†– 4:43 6. “Late Home Tonight, Part I†– 4:00 7. “Late Home Tonight, Part II†– 2:13 8. “Too Much Rope†– 5:47 9. “What God Wants, Part II†– 3:41 10. “What God Wants, Part III†– 4:08 11. “Watching TV†– 6:07 12. “Three Wishes†– 6:50 13. “It’s a Miracle†– 8:30 14. “Amused to Death†– 9:06 http://bit.ly/a5nMze K.A.O.S. is here Edited September 14, 2010 by Guest

Kanada Kev
how 'bout a little more Roger? http://bit.ly/chut1Q Roger Waters “IN THE FLESH†was released by Sony/Columbia on December 5th. The double CD recording of the entire live show, drawn from performances in Phoenix, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, Irvine, California, and Portland, Oregon, is Roger’s first full-length release since 1992′s “Amused To Death.†A deluxe DVD version of “In The Flesh†– featuring a Hi Definition live concert video with 5.1 Dolby Digital and LPCM Stereo music mixes, a 30-minute behind-the-scenes documentary, band biographies, still photographs, projected images, lyrics, and more – was released almost 2 years later. Appearing with Roger Waters (guitar, vocals, and bass) on “In The Flesh†is his band of top-flight musicians including Andy Fairweather-Low (guitar), Snowy White (guitar), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar and vocals), Graham Broad (drums), Jon Carin (keyboards), Andy Wallace (keyboards), Katie Kissoon (vocals), Susannah Melvoin (vocals), and PP Arnold (vocals). Throughout the U.S. tour, critics praised the power of Waters’ performances, the timelessness of his music, the show’s intimate production values and seamless structure. The San Jose Mercury News reported that the show “was rock as art, with the kind of concern for sound rarely seen today.†And the Fort Worth Star Telegram raved that “his long, luscious two-set show made up mainly of Floyd classics was on a more human scale? this show felt like a celebration.†The Los Angeles Times was equally enthusiastic and wrote, “the show illustrated the extent to which Waters operatic rock has influenced generations.†– rogerwaters.org mp3@320CBR Tracklist: 1. “In The Flesh†(from “The Wallâ€) 2. “The Happiest Days Of Our Lives†(from “The Wallâ€) 3. “Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2″ (from “The Wallâ€) 4. “Mother†(from “The Wallâ€) 5. “Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert†(from “The Final Cutâ€) 6. “Southampton Dock†(from “The Final Cutâ€) 7. “Pigs On The Wing, Part 1″ (from “Animalsâ€) 8. “Dogs†(from “Animalsâ€) 9. “Welcome To The Machine†(from “Wish You Were Hereâ€) 10. “Wish You Were Here†(from “Wish You Were Hereâ€) 11. “Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-8)†(from “Wish You Were Hereâ€) 12. “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun†(from “Saucerful Of Secretsâ€) 13. “Breathe (In The Air)†(from “Dark Side Of The Moonâ€) 14. “Time†(from “Dark Side Of The Moonâ€) 15. “Money†(from “Dark Side Of The Moonâ€) 16. “Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking Part 11 (aka 5:06 a.m. – Every Stranger’s Eyes)†from “The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking†17. “Perfect Sense (Parts I and II)†(from “Amused To Deathâ€) 18. “The Bravery Of Being Out Of Range†(from “Amused To Deathâ€) 19. “It’s A Miracle†(from “Amused To Deathâ€) 20. “Amused To Death†(from “Amused To Deathâ€) 21. “Brain Damage†(from “Dark Side Of The Moonâ€) 22. “Eclipse†(from “Dark Side Of The Moonâ€) 23. “Comfortably Numb†(from “The Wallâ€) 24. “Each Small Candle†(new song) http://bit.ly/chut1Q

Dr_Evil_Mouse
Thanks for the links, KK. Our eldest daughter just discovered Floyd, though watching the Wall with us a couple of weeks ago. It'll be nice having something relatively new to share together. Kanada Kev
Right on! Lots to discuss when it comes to the Floyd. My daughter, who is 6, has always been fond of Floyd. The main reason is the PINK PIG. She has a thing for pigs She also loves the Beatles, but recently announced that Rush is her favourite band She makes me laugh ... especially when she starts to rock out.
