You simply need to get on the PATH train that will take you into manhatten. There are signs all over the place at Newerk when ya land. I have stayed at st. james hotel and big apple hostel on new years before for good deals. If you have 4 friends, you can get a 4 person private room at big apple. PassedOutGuy Posted October 5, 2010 Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 we actually stayed in newark twice and had no problems taking the trains in... it is a bit of an inconvenience but nothing major... if we were going this time we were gonna look in Hoboken or Jersey City which is just a bit closer than Newark. There are great websites for subletting. Cheaper then a hotel and if you use a legit website you won't get ripped off. This is my 3rd time doing this in NYC.
