  1. The intro video was very cool. The quality was outstanding but you could tell that they had backup lower quality feeds for when traffic and server stress levels were high. It would swap almost seemlessly to the lower quality stream, and then back up when everything was ok. There were a few dropouts with a "technical difficulties" message that lasted only 5 seconds at a time.
  2. welcome "back". Vanderpark made some fans at 40 main if I remember correctly.

  6. Watch ebay and see what they are going for. i think the life of the battery should be tested before you put a price on it since it's so old. I really don't know what a fair price is.
  7. A guy at work sold his much superior 3GS 16 Gig for $250.

  9. Had a great lunch at Sweetgrass in Ottawa. shaved roast local lamb sandwich and creamy broccoli soup. i was too full for dessert. too bad. i could have had this: "Warren’s Jamaican Rum Bread Pudding Served warm with butterscotch ice cream and caramel sauce"
  10. i use google docs for pretty much everything these days. though if I had to be offline, that wouldn't work at the moment. google is working on an offline solution. open office seems like a good solution.
  11. I was waiting until I hit the 150 replies mark in this but I don't have all day Thanks for the kind wishes. This is one of the very rare years where my birthday actually falls midweek and is not part of the civic holiday long weekend. The last time this happened and it fell on wednesday was 2004. Happy 49th Birthday to Barack Obama as well. Geez, he's only 10 years older than me and he's the President of the United States. Here is a list of number one songs on this day in history A major event happened on this day: Aug. 4, 1944 - Nazi police discovered Anne Frank and her family, hiding in secret quarters above her father’s factory in Amsterdam, Holland. Miss Frank was 13 years old and had kept a diary of her feelings, thoughts and fears during the two years of hiding from the Nazis. Anne and her sister were taken to a concentration camp following the arrest. Anne Frank died at Bergen-Belsen. Her diary was found later and has since been translated into 30 different languages, adapted as a dramatic play and a Hollywood film. Her diary is a symbol of the strength of the human spirit. She wrote: “I keep on trying to find a way of becoming what I would like to be and what I could be, if there weren’t any other people living in the world.”
  12. Do you have a free copy of word on cd that you can't install?
  13. Uhhhhhh-mazing. There should be some sort of law that says you have to be at least 60 or near death in order to write and sell a memoir.

    iPhone 4

You could say the same thing about Phish Coventry. Coventry cost way more, killed more brain cells and delivered a lot of crap. Waiting in line for iPhone 4 was like Coventry without the mud or the shitty lead guitar.
  17. this thread is making me hungry
  18. I seeked out the answers to this when I moved to quebec. Pretty much any contest in canada includes quebec. It's the US contests where we get burned. Most US contests are only available to citizens of the US but when they include canadians, they exclude the quebecers. speaking of them US contests, they usually exclude Hawaii. I wonder why that is? edit: got the answer using internets
  19. wow. If that's what happened, he took it extremely well. http://www.glidemagazine.com/hiddentrack/video-furthur-el-paso/
  20. I think it would be even more interesting if you didn't use any effects processing. Check out this guy's similar but more geeky project. jwxN8sCIOOE

yeah, i'm just fucking with you. It was a good suggestion. thanks for the feedback regarding the links to articles. I moved it down so I can monitor it while I figure out why it isn't updating like it is supposed to. New posts are not showing up in the feed sidebar. Basically, there is content in the forums that I can publish on the main page and the info from that page can be pushed to the forums. I'm trying to work out those glitches and I don't have a test site.

ok, because this is exactly how things can be changed. forget polls, user testing, or usability patterns. there's no need for evidence or even a whiff of a reason. just one basic statement. who care's who is online anyway?
