  1. we just watched the first 2 episodes of season one. it is shaping up to be an excellent series. Bets on how long it takes to finish all 5 seasons?
  2. I'm wondering if Snoop shows UP with ho's or turns regular girls INTO ho's when he does a show. as far as Michael Farti, I'm shocked that he's done every Bluesfest since 2001.

  4. I saw this on the weekend. I can't believe no one here acknowledged him. yeesh.
  5. aw shit. I actually thought that I might see him and Tim since they were still at it. They were touring the last couple of years and I thought they might hit the NAC. I grew up watching the Carol Burnett show and seeing him try to hold in his laughter. Especially when Tim was trying his best to trip him up. His involvement with Mama's Family was great.
  6. Bluesfest adds more stars to already brilliant constellation Snoop Dogg, Michael Franti, Sean Paul in the mix May 29, 2008, Ottawa – The Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest today confirmed the addition of Snoop Dogg, as well as Michael Franti & Spearhead to their festival program. Since the official line-up announcement in April, there have been a couple of adjustments, including the addition of Sean Paul and the regrettable cancellation of Dr. John, due to illness. Sean Paul, the worldwide ambassador of dancehall reggae, will be performing on Bluesfest’s Bank of America Stage on Sunday, July 13 at 7 p.m. And, Michael Franti—a perennial Bluesfest favourite—will be stepping up to the Roots stage in the July 8 time-slot, previously assigned to Dr. John. As stated on his website, Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus is a rare exception in the turbulent world of Hip-Hop. In a genre where big names come and go, Snoop Dogg has managed to stay tremendously relevant throughout his 16-plus years in the game and is an all-out pop culture icon. “I believe this is an excellent treat for our existing and eventual passport holders,” says Bluesfest executive director, Mark Monahan. “The Dr. John situation was unavoidable and, of course, we wish Mac all the best, but it was great news to hear Michael Franti was available. The feedback about the program thus far has been phenomenal and adding these additional pieces to the puzzle reinforces the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest as one of the pre-eminent music festivals in North America,” added Monahan. Indeed, Ottawa Bluesfest fans of all stripes should be delighted that an already exciting line-up, just got better with the addition of Snoop Dogg and Michael Franti. Tickets for any one of these shows or 11-day festival passports are available on-line or at all Bluesfest ticket outlets. See www.ottawabluesfest.ca for complete details.

    perfect miso soup

you can throw in whatever you want. I just really needed to get this somewhere before my notes went into the garbage. I have been trying to duplicate miso soup from Korean and Japanese restaurants. But I think the korean ones (where you get bim bim bap and bugolgi bbq beef) have the best. They are always served with the wakami. I had to do some research online and found that dried wakami is very easy to use. The dashi is something I had in the pantry and it really rounds out the miso paste. I found that in many miso soup recipes so I used it as well. we always just used water and paste, but it is so boring compared to this version. for the record, I nearly perfected a classic dish last night, Beef with Broccoli. mmmm!
  8. i still love phish. when I hear them come up on Sirius or my iPod, I realize that no one touches them.
  9. 'ersh was kind enough to offer me a guestlist spot but since they weren't going on until eleven, I knew I couldn't do it. waaahhhh! It sounds like he's brought some serious game to the Trews. They'll be back for the Ottawa Ex so let's get a group out!
  10. I consider REALLY lucky to have caught nero when I did; first show was The Whipping Post and last show was Maverick's. I relate all my nero experiences to a very unique and special time in my life. Coming from where I did (smalltown Canada) it was like a pilgrimage to go see shows and when I was not at a show and ran into someone else who was into the band, it was a special bond that could be shared, a nudge, a wink, a "they get it too". Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to take anything away from anyone else!!! But after listening to some "post-hiatus" shows and seeing some DVDs like Live at Barrymore's with moe. ....I am very happy to leave my memories of seeing nero intact as they are. I don't think the magic that happened for me in 01-02-03 can ever be recreated...

  16. inspect your tires before you drive away. it's not rocket science.
  17. It came 75 cents after GST. no shipping either.
  18. Even tires at canadian tire should last 3-4 years with regular rotation and proper alignment. I wouldn't say that they are crap there. There are usually some good deals. Why do you think that they are crap? Currently, I get all my tire shit done at Pneus Lavoie in Hull. They do tire storage as well. They may sell the tires that you're looking for. http://www.pneuslavoie.com/anglais/index.htm
