I was at that show. I remember that at as we entered the parking lot, there were people handing out flyers trying to organize a Happy Birthday sing-along at the beginning of one of the sets. Of course, the crowd was too high to either remember, or else too high to sing together on cue... or, more likely, a lethal combination of the two. Either way, the sing-along didn't pan out. Great Stella Blue, though. Of course, in '94 most of the Stella Blues - indeed, most of the ballads - were highlights of the shows.

I went to the five shows leading up to Lemonwheel, but jumped off the tour after the Vernon Downs show. Walnut Creek> Merriweather Post> Virginia Beach (Terrapin!)> Star Lake> Vernon Downs. That was a good summer!

Elton John, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. It's amazing how some songs that you thought you could happily live without ever hearing again aren't even remotely annoying when you live thousands of miles out of range of anything even remotely resembling American terrestrial radio.

There have been rumours floating around for a long time that the Supper Club shows were supposed to be the next Bootleg Series albums. I wonder if seeing a track from those shows on this compilation means that those plans have been nixed.
