  1. This was run on CBC's "Q" the other day. Great interview and insight into the film. http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/pastpodcasts.html?42#ref42
  2. By all means BR. Carrie and Ricky keep telling me about you and how we should be jammin since we're so close. Greenhorns is on the main drag in Sauble, south of the lights (away from the beach) right beside Jaffa's coffee house. pm me and I'll give you some more details and contact info. cheers btw...what a fucking beautiful day in Bruce county huh?
  3. I've heard abit about this as well. Lobbies (the beachfront patio/bar) has changed ownership and will be booking some acts this summer as well. I can liase for anyone who wants to get a show together from this end. I'm at the beach at least twice a week for work or otherwise. Send me a pm and I'll get it moving. If anyone wants to get some jam time in on thurs nights I've got an open jam going at Greenhorns. We're getting more traffic though the beach lately and we had a real sweet jam this week with a bunch of local players. Right now its just an acoustic thing but we have plans to expand it to a three pc core set of gear to fill things out. g
  4. So where else are there any open jams around the Sound? I've been running one at Greenhorns in Sauble every thursday for a couple of months now but I'd love to get around the area a bit more with it. g
  5. That was the Carpenter's Book and Music shop...I remember not feeling too upset that they were over run by the big machine what with all their Christian leanings. I always felt dirty when shopping there
  6. alright then...now I can settle down
  7. Say it ain't so!! Leave that pissy little store alone you big conglomerate toe crusher you, you.. I'll try to check it out this weekend Trickster g
  8. Just don't end up under the bike in an hour! g
  9. Looks like they will give you all the 'services' on existing phone lines. But when the cable is being buried on your street you will be forced to switch over or lose connection. I'm going to investigate this for sure over the next while. Thanks Irie Guy g
  10. Which one do you figure blows the most hot air through the lines?
  11. People make it easier for guns to use bullets to inflict wounds that kill people's will to use guns to make it easi....I was just a kid when I saw all Heston's movies. g
  12. http://www.brucetelecom.com/fibrefaq.shtml Why is Bruce Telecom installing FTTH in Southampton? The installation of fibre optic cable in Southampton will allow Bruce Telecom to provide multiple services to your home with the latest digital technology and improve the Quality of Service to you. If I want phone service, high speed Internet or television from Bruce Telecom, do I need to have fibre buried to my home? Yes. I wonder what they're charging for the line installation. Might be worth a call...
  13. Same here. Thing is I do save a few bucks with having all the services 'bundled' But then so are the pains. g
  14. 'bout time, I'd say. Should open the door for others like Hunter-Garcia, even if just for the lyrical content. That whole creating a new "americana" theme. g
  15. I'm locked in now too, like an addiction, with a lot of services through them. The only advantage I have is reliability over some of the other telecom services up in this area. We tried the 'other' guys but with wireless, multiple phone lines and satellite and all that related hardware shit I suppose I'll just have to sleep and bear it.
  16. So I was on hold today for about 15 minutes with Bell when I started to get distracted. They were filling the time with this erie sort of Jammy loop music that was somehow hypnotizing me. I pryed the receiver from the dent which was developing in the side of my head and layed it down on the desk, wondering how long it might be before I'd get to speak to a real person. Then I started browsing Jambands here for a bit, occaisionally checking the line for life. I ended up at in a place which was remote and vaguely familiar. It was the Harry Manx and Kevin Breit video....now I was truly slipping. Still no signs of a living being on the other end of the line. Almost 25 minutes into my holding pattern now. I left the receiver in front of the desktop speakers and went to get some food. Death Have Mercy, indeedy. When I returned 10 minutes later there was life. But not much help. Why alla time huh? g
  17. I thought this thread was about 'dosing' so while I'm here...Jack Johnson can give me the sleepies but in a welcoming sort of way. g
  18. as long as its right after Cops and for a full hour I don't see why the fuck not Its a token event at best but definitely going to raise awareness. Who's gonna bust the balloon and post between 8 and 9 tonight? Personally we're getting ready to shut down the house....of course we'll probably be burning energy somewhere else! g
  19. been savin this post all week Have a great time my friends
  20. '>Link Looking' forward to some campfires this summer 'that didn't work worth a shit' Suite Judy Blues Eyes
  21. This is very cool. Pretty good sampling too, if that's how the tones were generated. I like the tools and the toms! g
  22. Her's to gooood times with family and friends y'all.
  23. This is not an easy one. Most of the shit I listen to has some connection to friends and this is no exception. I just managed to scrape a few tracks off on old friends Korg PX something or other. Its called 'Winlaw' Not sure why. then there's this other tune claled Elan Song. Very soothing. Has the ambient sound of a breeze in back but then it could be the crashing surf of a beach in thailand. Pretty significant to him i would suppose. Ant the lat track is just alooose jam from New Years eve maybe two three years ago at his folks house. Good times indeed. Bottle rockets and walkabouts if I recall even some of it correctly. Anyoneknow where to get addtional memory cards for a Korg PXR4 (Pandora's Box) I'm hoping this unot is not obsolete already, cause I just figured out how to use it!
  24. They do it up right for sure BR. I swear the 'unplugged' team stole the whole format for its sheer depth of appeal. It always seems to bring you right through the screen and onto the stage. Neil's appearances have always floored me and he must have been thinking of those shows when he produced Harvest Gold. Have I got that right? Y'know the latest live film where he's playing Hank's old Martin? Brings me to tears with its integrity.
