  1. Us, too. I somehow figured out a trick I could do with the car I drove at the time. I would find an empty parking lot with lots of snow, or ideally ice. I would turn my steering wheel as far as it could go to the left, and then put it in reverse. I would gun the engine as hard as I could, and the car would actually spin; doing 360s in one spot. We called it "The Time Machine". My poor car; I can only wonder how horrible that must have been for the engine, in so many ways. Geez we were dumb (but creative!).
  2. I remember when Elvis died you all laid down and prayed and cried every empire needs a king I'm good looking and boy can I sing he'll roll over in his grave because of me, Rock 'n' Roll is saved I'm so great and I'm so cool I am the king and the rebels rule it's me, myself, I am king I am the king of Rock 'n' Roll me, myself, I am king I am the king of Rock 'n' Roll the king is back and it's me what more is there I can see your lord and king is here to stay where ordinary rock and roll act we're not egotistic, just stating fact think how many dreams came true you waited many years, didn't you? If you was not for your masters' * you'd still be wandering in the * it's me, myself, I am king I am the king of Rock 'n' Roll me, myself, I am king I am the king of Rock 'n' Roll the king is back and it's me
  3. I'm in. (I do also hate The Opera House, but the band shouldn't be blamed for the venue.) See ya there.
  4. Hey speaking of stable people ... where's Velvet been, since who-knows-when? He was, originally, the only reason I was ever on this board.
  5. Well, I can't arbitrate when my own entry is challenged, so I leave that to Ms_Zimmy, but The Evil Mouse's entry passes; in my book. Carry on, then... Theme: Songs About The Sanctuary (This theme is very loosely defined, and very much open to interpretation; but if any players don't understand why the song is about The Sanctuary, they can ask you about it, meaning that your song-choice may be open to challenge, so be prepared to defend it...) 1. The Circle Jerks - I Just Want Some Skank 2. The Doors - People are Strange 3. The Slip - Sorry 4. Diesel Dog - Chico 5. Bob Dylan - Disease Of Conceit 6. The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary 7. J. Geils Band - Sanctuary 8. Cracker - Don't fuÇk Me Up (With Peace and Love) 9. 10. 11. 12. EDIT TO ADD: B.T.W. I love the fact that no one even considered challenging Hartamophone's entry; as it's just self-evident.
  6. Well, Ms_Zimmy, you may or may not be aware that The Sanctuary has, over time, been deemed "The Skanktuary", and its members (us) are proudly known as The Skanks. On that basis, does my entry pass muster?
  7. 12. I agree; mainly because Steely Dan managed to "patent" song lyrics. [color:purple]Until just now, I thought that was impossible.
  13. 'Jelly Roll' by Two Guys From Wawa This is an interesting, little band from Northern Ontario. Not every song is brilliant, but this one is really good, in my opinion. Incidentally, within the Wawa "city" limits, they are just known as "Two Guys" (emphasis on the first word).
  14. So (despite my official hatred of people in general) someone is coming to see me from BC this weekend. I'd like to take her out to see some tunes on Friday or Saturday. Set me up, folks. What's goin' on ?
  15. Hey! My entry (formerly #3) has been deleted. It's because I'm only posting punk songs, isn't it? Damn discrimination ... why I oughtta ...
  16. I love this band, both for their music and their debaucherous attitude. The only comment I have, though, is that the next time I see them I will actually wear ear-plugs. I seriously think they damaged my hearing. (As I write this, I can't help remembering being a young punk-rocker, living by the adage, "If it's too loud, you're too fuckin' old!" Ah well, I'm too fuckin' old.)

  18. Tetherball. I'd probably still love that game if I played it now. I also really liked "Ga Ga Ball", which is basically a variation on Dodge Ball. Indoors? I guess Intellivision.
  19. Good advice for getting along with men, in general.
  20. Hayseed Hardcore? That's not a funny name?

  22. No offense intended to NewRider, but I think it's completely disgusting and disrespectful.

  24. Wow. That is quite a raving review. I appreciate that. I am pretty much decided to go to this show. Your post is very encouraging. Thanks!
