  7. That's a great lineup for the MoHo. I'm looking forward to seeing CTSQ sometime soon (though probably in Toronto, not Ptbo). Anything going on in Ptbo on Friday Nov 30, after Harry Manx? A few of us are coming up (Me, Nelles, Caroline). Show or not, we should meet up for a beer.

    New Years Eve!!!!

I'll probably go see The Sadies at the Horseshoe again.. Went last year and had an amazing time! Couldn't ask for anything more really. The Golden Dogs are playing at Lee's Palace (I believe) that night too. That's another Toronto option.
  9. This CBC documentary, which we talked about one year ago, is playing on CBC at 10pm tonight - in 3 minutes! I've been looking forward to seeing this, should be sweet! Look out for the argos-suck.com guys at the tailgate party at the labour day classic in hamilton. http://www.cbc.ca/thelens/program_281007.html http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/234045/fromsearch/1/tp/1/

    Asian Snacks

i love the kim (the seaweed).. at a lot of korean bars they serve it up just like we'd eat chips over here. its good! i like the dried squid as well. there's this one kind and its strips of dried squid with some kind of white cheese attached.. f'n good! the GROSSEST korean snack is boondaegee (silkworm larvae).. you bite into it and its this oozy explosion of disgustingness. you can smell it a mile away!
  11. dang i wish i'd noticed that they were at the dakota! i like seeing shows at that venue.. and i like the county boys! anyhoo have fun mooose and everyone else.

  13. It would be awesome to see these guys at The Montreal House in Ptbo! I don't see the Hamilton date on their MySpace. Can't make the Toronto date (Ween night). I hope they go back to doing the weekly at the Cadillac.
  14. That would be a kick ass night! Why at Higher Ground, I wonder.
  15. Cool! What the CIDA folk and other donors must realize is that a project being carried out by any given NGO can only contribute towards a program Goal/Impact, not acheive that goal. What a project CAN acheive is at the Outcome level (one down from Impact). In terms of M&E, whoever is doing the project design has to have the logic down, and make sure solid measurable indicators in place (s.m.a.r.t.). So then the person doing M&E can actually do his/her job. Haha sorry this is what I do all day. That conference looks cool. Does the UNFCCC follow an RBM style in their project designs? Are you a M&E guy?
  16. Last night's set... Substitute 'Journey Through The Past' for 'After The Goldrush'... And an encore change-up too. 10-22-2007, Keller Theater, Portland, Oregon w/ Rick Rosas, Ben Keith & Ralph Molina From Hank To Hendrix / Ambulance Blues / Sad Movies / A Man Needs A Maid / No One Seems To Know / Harvest / After The Gold Rush / Mellow My Mind / Love Art Blues / Love Is A Rose / Heart Of Gold // The Loner / Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere / Dirty Old Man / Spirit Road / Bad Fog Of Loneliness / Winterlong / Oh, Lonesome Me / The Believer / No Hidden Path // Cinnamon Girl / Like A Hurricane
  17. i'm going to humber in toronto learning about international project management, log frame analysis and results based management. anyone know what the hell i'm talking about?? sounds pretty dry but its actually good stuff. i'm also making it out to good amounts of live shows... friday i saw 'do make say think' at the phoenix followed by carlos del junco at the silver dollar. last night saw sisters euclid and most excitingly i spoke with kevin breit for the first time. he was sitting there looking a little lonely so we talked a few minutes. we talked about this song "40 days, 39 nights" which is off his first solo album (maybelle). i told him how much it moved me and that it was a pretty important song for me particularly about 4-5 years ago. he had kinda forgotten it but he was pretty clearly happy to hear it, and we hummed it together and it all came back and he said i've planted the seed with him and hopefully he'll crank it out soemtime soon. that's about it!
  18. I can't wait to see this movie again! I just noticed the other day that these two will be on the soundtrack for I'm Not There (new Bob Dylan movie) doing a cover of 'You Aint Goin NOwhere'.. Something to look forward to. Pretty big venue for them isn't it??
  19. I'm surprised no one's commented on the lack of setlist variation yet. I guess its too early to tell, but do you reckon he'll do roughly the same set every night? If so, what about multiple nights in one city? Does Neil regularly do tours this way? I know that on the Fall 2000 tour (the one that the Live at Red Rocks - Friends & Relatives dvd came out of), he essentially did the same set each night with the exception of the encore. On the bright side, if there is a lot of repetition, at least its a GREAT setlist he's working with.
