  2. Sounds like somebody might be spending too much time at the office...
  3. Right, and I think people sometimes forget that in general Phish has never sought to play shows that pander to people who do entire tours, at least not in terms of song selection. Sure they mix things up from night to night, but it always bugs me when folks bitch about seeing too many of a particular song too much when they've done an entire tour. You've just seen the band 20 times in one month, brah, if you don't want repeats you're going to have to cut back. (Not that I'm saying that you fall into that category, jaybone).
  4. Irregardless. Hands down the misused/overused "word" that annoys me the most. I generally find people use it when trying to sound smart, which they do not, given that the double negative totally negates their intended meaning.

    MSG #3

I was hoping "Shine a Light" would stay in the rotation... Set One * Heavy Things * Possum * Wilson * Kill Devil Falls * Glide * 46 Days * Bouncing Around The Room * Reba * Dinner and a Movie * Guyute * Maze * First Tube Set Two * Scents And Subtle Sounds * Rock & Roll > * Seven Below > * Twist * Mike's Song > * I Am Hydrogen > * Weekapaug Groove * The Horse > * Silent in the Morning * You Enjoy Myself Encore * Shine A Light

  7. Funny, my mom just finished reading that and has been raving about it to anyone who will listen. I think I'll have to put that one on the list. (Thankfully I work in a book shop that I can use as my own personal library).
  8. Good reading, thanks. I was surprised when I lived in Halifax at how rich an African culture there is out there.
  9. Nice seeing the bluegrass tunes starting to make their way back into the rotation. I'm feeling a "Rocky Top" soon.
  10. Set One * AC/DC Bag * Maze * Driver * My Mind's Got A Mind Of Its Own * Gumbo * Bouncing Around The Room * It's Ice * Two Versions Of Me * Timber * Limb By Limb * Cavern * Light Set Two * My Friend, My Friend > * Golden Age * On Your way Down * Fluffhead * Piper > * Tomorrow's Song * Prince Caspian * Harry Hood * Suzy Greenberg * The Squirming Coil * I Been Around Encore * Fire "Golden Age" is a TV on the Radio cover. Interesting that they encored with Fire the last time they played Albany, on 12/01/2003.
  11. Incredibly sad. I think I saw him in 2004 opening up for James Brown in Halifax. Not someone I listened to a whole bunch, but that hardly seems relevant in reflecting on his passing.
  12. Many thanks to those of you who took the time to vote. Voting is closed and I've moved on to the second round where a panel of judges makes the decisions. Velvet has also moved on. Hooray for us!
  13. Whoop whoop! Congrats buddy. Here's to never having to ask for votes again. Hopefully we both crack the subjective top-10 so that we can at least post with shiny new laptops.
  14. I had a pretty funny interaction with a guard at that crossing (1,000 Islands, I assume) coming back from Bonnaroo in 2003 with two buddies in a van with me. -Where are you comign from? -Manchester, Tennessee. -What was going on down there? -A music festival. -What kind of festival? -Well, rock and roll, I guess. -Yeah, but who was there. -Oh, well, let me see. Neil Young...uuhhh...Ben Harper, the surviving members of the Grateful De- -Stop right there...(long pause)...were there a lot of drugs at the festival? -Yes sir, there were. -Did you leave them all there? -Yes sir, we did. -Have a nice day.
  15. Esau, I was hoping you'd come through for me. Much appreciated, my friend.
  16. One of my favourite YouTube videos of late has been Tony Rice's beautiful rendition of this tune. Anyone have a good quality Lightfoot version they can up for me? So far I've been unable to find one. Many thanks.
  17. No and no. There are only two current shows that I make a point of watching (The Office and 30 Rock) so I just watch both of them online. The only thing I miss is being able to watch sports, but I waste way too much time when I have a TV, so I choose to live without one most of the time. Dude, wait 'till your parents get the internet. You won't believe what's out there.
  18. There isn't one. You have to count manually, which is a royal pain.
