  1. I think I mentioned my extra tix on the board a while ago. Since then, I posted them on Craigslist in Ithica, looking for a trade for Portland floors for some friends, found a guy from Oregon and have since made the trade. Sorry. Good luck though. I wish I could have gone!
  2. Favourite is a bold statement, but here's a good one! w/ guests!
  3. This doesn't make him a drug dealer. Or unethical in my books. I'm gonna guess that the artist was George Clinton. No answer necessary. That may be unethical. And ya..... I'm sure there were demons in every city that Trey went, but due to border crossings, he had to rely on the locals in Toronto.
  4. i saw it with my 9 or 10 year old nephew. He sat though it silently through the whole thing and at the end, he said... ``I think that was the best movie that I`ve ever seen``. There was one sexy scene that both my wife and his mother from either side of him covered his eyes. 7 may be a bit young but this kid loved it! Oh yeah... I loved it too!
  5. Terrible, terrible news..... He was such a great person. I have many amazing memories, mostly of good and confortable feelings while in his presence. Friendly: I wish that I can be there to give you a huge hug! lots of love is coming from the west!

    Furthur tix

I've got Barton Hall Tix that I'm 99% sure that I won't be able to use. I'm not ready to give them up so quickly because I'm still pipe dreaming over here, but if anyone is interested in buying them from me when I realize that I can't make it, pm me and I'll let you know when the time comes. Aside from that, I've got my Portland, OR tix for gen. adm on the floor.
  7. Day one would get me there in a heartbeat.... not so much day two.
  8. For festivals, do you include all acts or only the ones that you saw? And on that note, is there a minimum watch time or does it matter if you heard them as opposed to saw them? How 'bout bands you're in or sat in with? I'd assume that bands that were openning acts and you missed them don't count either?
  9. Do you really want it to be posted here every time there's a show in Vancouver? True, but this show sold out. Over 300 paid. Very little for Keller, but with realistic goals by Deke, the promoter, having it in a small venue, at least he had a sold out show. Sometimes my feeling too. But he actually was on fire that night. Danny Barnes really inforced me to go to the show. He is amazing! And Keller really killed it that night. This wasn't the ad for the show. Anyone who reads this board knows from other threads and other places on the upstream entertainment web site all of the details of the show. There were many different conversations about the event. And yes this was a guilt tactic, but in a way for out here, it was well needed and it worked!
  10. On the topic of BNB, here's some nostalgia for ya...... If my memory serves me correct, This weekend (I think Dec. 6th), 13 years ago (1996?), marks the first time that BNB left Thunder Bay to play in Toronto at the Opera House where the Fat Cat's had graciously welcomed us to be their opening act.
  11. Especially when your main source of promotion/publicity is on a website called "jambands.ca" Amen!!! Also, I love it that the very first person to ever criticize or say something negative about the band on the internet is now writing the bio. Think of the irony! It's good though. Good work. Have fun at the show everybody!!!
  12. Here's a good read by Danny Barnes.... http://www.dannybarnes.com/blog/few-reasons-music-biz-good-biz-rebuttal-negative-conversation-about-state-music and if you like that, check out: how to make a living playing music

    Furthur 2010

This is true, but as a whole, it was the best thing that could have happened to Phish at that point in time. They were becoming huge, but not at that rate. There's no way that they would possibly complain about all the extra money they made and those huge packed venues they started to play at. But ya.... in 94 and 95 the dead scene was getting out of hand, Phish had a cool tight scene, then Jerry died and all the crap simply went on Phish tour instead.

    Furthur 2010

I havn't read this whole thread in it's entirety, but from the bits of all the posts that I have read and the general vibe i'm getting from it...... You guys are fucking nuts!!! I wasn't at the shows in san fran, but everyone that I know that was there was extatic!!! I've loved every thing I've heard from the downloads. And this is clearly the best Grateful Dead outfit that's been around since at least 1995. This is the future of this stuff!!! I can't wait to go to some shows. I hope this line up sticks. Maybe with occasional visits from Billy and Mickey. Maybe even Bruce one day. The only thing that i worry about is how long they'll be able to keep Rosso. He seems to be the only one in the band that has a music career that isn't Grateful Dead related. Anyways, if you have any like or love for the Grateful Dead music, I'd be surprised if you're not excited about this.

    Miami NYE

Hillarious!! I guess there are no rules when it comes to Phish. When I got my "Phishbill", I thaught that it was ironic and funny that they were advertising David Bowie with UB40 on the same weekend in Miami that Phish was rumoured to play there. But I guess they were really advertising the Phish show. The night before Halloween when Phish started to play the song "David Bowie", Trey said something like "here's a hint at what we're going to play tomorrow night". I leaned over to a friend and said "watch they play a UB40 album tomorrow". When we got the Phishbill the next day and right beside the Exile content page, the advertisement for David Bowie and UB40 was there, I still kinda thaught they were screwing with us and were gonna bust it out the UB40. I'm glad they didn't. No New Years Phish for me though. I can't justify going all the way to Miami from Vancouver and not getting on the Jam Cruise boat the next day. And that's not in my cards. If I were able to scrape some money together, I'd go see Furthur in San Fran. Or even Yonder in Denver.
  17. Jam Cruise has gotta be the best senario for a festival ever! I went last year and can't do it this year. I think there may be a few cabins left. Line up meh? One thing that I realized last year is that no matter what it looks like on paper, they allways have an epic line up. You discover so many bands there. This one looks great to me. I'm so glad it's not "Indy Cruise". They definetely lean towards the funk. Big New Orleans vibe. Cost: My wife and I had a room with a balcony (which was super slick!) and paid total $3000 for that. We got that room 'cause we booked late and that's what was left. It would have been 2,400, but I'm so glad we got it. Then our booze and on board bill was about $500, plus flights from Vancouver. We had a place to stay in Florida, but we did hotel the night after the cruise, so total cost including everything was probably about a little over $5,000. Only problem is that if you decide to go, you may feel the need to add Phish Miami to your tab which will add a fair bit of time and money. Hmmmmm will anyone from Phish be on the boat??? You never know. I can't go this year, but I do plan to save for it and go every year that I can after that. AMAZING!

    RC 8

By this time tomorrow, I'm sitting at Bellingham airport about to board my plane!!! :) Look out for a small pod of shiny animated (muppetesk) style fish with big heads and big eyes, big teeth and Fishmen circles all over the bodies.
  19. I never watch the show, but it was just on in the background, while I'm packing for my trip, and they started up a band called "Phish Tahco" and they kept playing "Frankenstein"! I can't 'till two days from now!!!
  20. After last night, our costumes are close to done!!! :)

    Furthur NYE

Bullshit..... Easy decision! Play in the cover band, or play with the members of the band you are covering? The members of Dark Star would be idiots to not understand that. Maybe if you were a Deadhead in another very popular original band and was offered a position by the members of the Grateful Dead into their band. That would be a tough decision! The "flamily" that he "built from scratch" was actually built by the family who he will now be playing with seeing that they play only their songs.

  23. I took a look. Liked the idea. Made some super cool "Gela Skins" for my ipod. tried to "check out", filled in all the info, address, credit card, etc... and some sort of glitch stopped me. Pressed green box at bottom right corner and nothing happened. no gela skin for me. right now at least.
