  1. saw them back in 95 in torona... was only a fan of Pure Guava at the time and expected some sort of japanese techno/grunge band in plastic outfits Booche is the correct, definately just the ticket for some fine sloppy good times can't make the Ween show tonight sadly, but am catching Slow Hand Motem at PJC... they possess the greatest band bio I've ever read and I've read a lot of band bios lemme tell ya
  2. were fantastic only time I've seen em... is a grand spectacle, lots of fun... likely Frank Black's inspiration... not a comedy act though... any musical genre is game at a live Ween show their live DVD is definately worth picking up
  3. finding press photos of brantford musicians (and press bios) is usually a task... recommend you talk to studog, he took this:
  4. sorry not to make it out Pablo, just lost a job and was at the end of my energy... needed some food, juice and sleep good to hear you enjoyed it!
  5. over on the indie boards people are saying Soulseek is the way to go if you get music download withdrawl... software thats much like Napster, slower than torrents but lots of selection to choose from (never used it myself, just passing it along) guess Indietorrents pulled the plug themselves, homepage says "Home of the Independent (picture of rainclowd). What the fuck is a Torrent anyways?" on Oink mostly scored things I'd previously bought or things I was curious about and wouldn't have shelled out cash for (but might buy in the future, though some others am very glad I didn't throw away my money on) [ifpi] my burned cd collection is 99% plus free to trade live shows ok'd by the artist [/ifpi] no guilt, if anything not being able to sample music as freely as I could would say I'll likely spend less purchasing store bought CDs in the future
  6. between King and Barton, closer to Barton, on the left if you're heading north on Parkdale enjoyed myself quite a bit there last time
  7. keep hearing about it on Y108... radio promo is good hope to see ya's there
  8. thursday will be a fun one... hope it still feels like autumn (not like summer again... sheesh with all that already)
  9. if they go after everyone who used the tracker they'd be looking at hundreds of thousands of court cases... taking until about a couple of hundred years to prosecute more likely looking for people who acquired things free then packaged and sold them for profit through a website... or the top hundred uploaders or something like that they way I see the world it'll simply be a kiss and tell type investigation, stories that end up in the tabloids (netting the tabloids mega-thousands)... "and notable Wall Street executive, Billy Big Bucks, was found to have downloaded the entire Shania Twain collection along with The Bee Gee's greatest hits and Martha Stewart's Cooking with the Stars. Mr. Big Bucks attorneys denied comment upon these allegations."
  10. Are you sure? I'd bet that logo is copyrighted. thus the naughty thrill
  11. Not if you love Townes Van Zandt or Gram Parsons it ain't! Demonoid (via proxy) for Townes Van Zandt/Gram Parsons newtorrents is basically good for periodic checking for software/books/movies/pop music... was a good place to grab stuff to up your oink ratio, back in the day
  12. new avatar anyone? help yerself oh well, hardly using Oink anymore... just loggin on and downloading a book once a month to keep my account active you can find some decent video tutorials on this romanian tracker bouche: docs.torrents.ro ... don't see them getting raided anytime soon, also lots of books and documentaries http://www.newtorrents.info/ is good for newly released stuff
  13. I worked for a charity out west that I thought was a good cause, until I did some math one day after noticing the sketchy show up for 5 minutes a day general manager was driving a new Jaguar and wearing $600 sun glasses we would ask for funds to print and deliver coloring/activity books to kids in local hospitals... sounds great... only problem, any given day each of the 30 people manning the phones would bring in a minimum of hundreds to a max of several thousand dollars in donations (bonuses for $10,000 received by a phone person weren't unheard of)... average printing cost on super cheap paper for a coloring/activity book was roughly 30 cents... so where were they finding these millions of children requiring coloring/activity books while stuck in the hospital? am sure there were other costs involved but regardless am pretty positive that after their first week in business every hospitalized kid on the lower mainland should've been swimming in coloring books (they'd been operating for 3 years) buyer beware
  14. a "tip to police" led to the arrest of the junkie rock stars in possession of a quarter of weed... someone needs a little time in rat-hab
