Hey MarcO, I am glad that Hamilton still builds hotels in the downtown. Not many cities build hotels in their cores anymore. It's a sign of confidence in a town's future and urban health.

If it is like the House of Blues, then this venue will be really cool. The guy looks like a scumbag from where I'm sitting, but a lot of club owners are fucking degenerate pigs, and this guy happens to be one of the those that got caught, allegedly.

Hamilton is really ripe for a major downtown makeover and urban renewal. Many people that don't want to live in the burbs and blight around Toronto are looking to Hamilton, which, if the town council have any kind of foresight, will be into improving the downtown core. I hope this proposed new hall helps.

The original Van Halen was important and one of the only hard rock bands that mattered during their initial run. Eddie is a guitar god. Period. Arguing about Eddie's innovation and chops is stupid. I don't like Johnny Marr or Kevin Shields, but I know they deserve and earned their places in the rock guitar god pantheon.

The HD ACL (at least in the Toronto PBS region) is now in 5.1 surround. Until this year the audio was in stereo only.

I watch bad music videos and idiotic VJ's all day and night... and I also write reviews for a hippy-friendly music website.

It's a lot of loops and grooves with some nice melodies and organic production values, but the mid to slow tempos get tedious and the songs never go for it musically. Mike B. sent me the disc to review, but I think it's better in a fan's hands, so Booche, get ready for the CD in your mailbox.

I don't think this strike will go on for the long haul. There's too much support for the writers this time around from all kinds of heavy-hitters.

I listened to his latest album yesterday and I didn't like it. The Bouchard brothers seemed surprised. Hell, I'm still surprised, but it is boring.

A dreadful band, other than their 70's FM hit "Jane".

BTW, spin-off series Heroes: Origins was canned. The producers got greedy and since there was an impending writer's strike, the network canned the show before it got off the ground. Also, Heroes' sagging ratings didn't help matters.
