  2. Humber is out a ways from the core. The area around Humber is on an up-swing for places to live. I'd look around there for a place to live.
  3. That's what I thought but it was just Kevin' date=' no Sisters and no discernible audience. It was produced by Bravo I believe. [/quote'] It was produced for Bravo!. I made a VHS copy for Velvet two or three years ago.
  4. And that faker is their #1 catcher. Pudge Fisk he ain't.
  5. If it's popular amongst Bright Eyes fans it does. I could have easily included Southbound by The Allmans or Start Me Up by The Stones too.
  6. Open Mic Night at Spirit's Bar & Grill starts around 8:00 and ends at 11:30ish. I've played around six of them so far. It's a low-key affair with two or three guys running the show - two guitars and one keyboard player. You can join them or perform alone or with your non-drum band. I'm thinking of doing a really low-fi Dreams and a couple of originals. Spirit's is on the corner of Hayden & Church Streets, one block south of Bloor @ Church. Note: It's not a gay bar... not that there's anything wrong with that.
  7. Not the worst, but songs that are popular by great artists that you just happen to hate.
  8. I guess I'm up: Theme - Popular songs that you hate by bands that you love: 1. The Who - Long Live Rock

    Avoid "Coffee Time"

The one on my block is decent. However, the patio is always a little sketchy.
  11. Next time, try the same financial test on an organic diet. I dare you! I don't think it can be done, but it's the healthiest way to live.
  12. You can bet that the loon owner of the Isles will table a big offer to Smyth in the near future. If he doesn't, I wouldn't be shocked if Ryan re-signed with the Oil in the off-season, especially after they miss the playoffs.
  13. I wasn't until Booche emailed me at home. I woke up at 9:30. Thanks for the post Freak!
  14. I'm off that night, but I gotta go to a wedding the next day. I'm saying now that I'm going to the concert. Lloyd has had an 'ecclectic' solo career. Some highlights include: a few critically received albums; playing lead on three of the best Matthew Sweet albums (Girlfriend, Altered Beast and 100% Fun); producing and playing with the revived proto-punk legends Rocket From The Tombs; and interestingly, giving guitar lessons to rock stars (like Jeff Tweedy). The re-release of his second album Field of Fire includes the original album along with bonus tracks. These tracks are an entire re-do of the original album. If anyone is off that night and is keen to see a rock guitar pioneer in the flesh, then come on out. You'll be hard-pressed to see his 'other' band Television live since they don't tour much, other than a couple of dates a year (mostly in Europe).
  15. Television is still together, so I'd remove the "former" from the original post. Lloyd is a fantastic guitarist. I may be working that night, but if I'm not, I'm all over this.
  16. The scary thing about Bargnani is that he's already good, but everyone knows he will get even better and more rounded. Forget the Pau Gasol comparisons. He will be another Dirk, mark my words, but maybe even a better back-the-the-basket post player.
  17. I think it's about time to get a Raptors forum up and running. They are smoking Houston right now, the best field goal defending team in the league, and will make the playoffs with authority. Their bench kicks ass and their signings, trades and draft choices from this and last year are paying off large. You'd think Basher or Chameleon would have long got a Raptors forum up and running.
  18. I'm in a union and I invest in GIC's. I used to invest a big lump sum when I was single and had money, but for the last six years all I can manage hovers around $1500-$2000 per year - I pay by the month.
  19. Crazy Strings play authentic-style bluegrass, and that kid on guitar is freaky talented.
  20. Songs about MURDER 1. Cowboy Junkies - Murder, Tonight, In the Trailer Park. 2. Snoop Dogg - Murder Was The Case 3. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Stagger Lee 4. Frank Zappa - My Guitar Wants to Kill Yer Mama 5. Grateful Dead - Jack Straw 6. The Headstones - Tweeter and the Monkeyman 7. Tom Waits - Murder In the Red Barn 8. Johnny Cash - Delia's Gone 9. Robert Nighthawk - Goin' Down To Eli's 10. 11. 12.
  21. Here's the deal Ollie' date=' just so you understand: Dave, do you own any Calgary apparel? Do you own any Leaf apparel? What about fridge magnets? What about ALL our hockey conversations over the years? Who do you talk more about? Calgary or the Leafs? Being a flamer and being a Flames fan are vastly different. Every Canadian hockey fan east of Manitoba loves Phaneuf. Dont kid yourself Leaf lover. Its time to embrace your true passion. [/quote'] I was trying so hard to stay out of this but...you don't pick teams, they pick you. Actually, that is more or less true. However, it really only applies to the NHL. I like to cheer for the underdog too. I wish I did have a team loyalty like I did with the Bruins growing up.
  22. I believe he's not getting at that. Phaneuf is not having a sophmore jinx either. Anyone with a hockey brain should love that fucking mean and talented bastard Phaneuf.
  23. For something a little different, try Grossman's on Spadina (across from the El Mo) tonight. I believe it is an open mic blues jam which always brings out some heavy players.
  24. And Roberts is the fittest player in the league, making him a very young 40.
  25. Dallas has a good finesse defense, so Norstrom is an excellent hard-nose addition.
