  1. I'll wait for the more interesting and far superior extended versions.
  2. I'm going and I believe I'll be interviewing the boys in the afternoon before the show.
  3. Here's a few of the shots I took of the evening's festivities. My two great T.O. friends, Don and Sally, with Andrew Brennan (old Kingston friend) M (in background) with Davey Boy and Dave's father - Andrew and Sally in foreground Low Roller with his girlfriend, Andrea, with the man of the hour himself c-towns with an idiot Drunken me celebrating after the exhibit at a bar that I have no idea how I got to Tipsy Catfish, aka Crystal, at the same bar
  4. This is mandatory on my running list. It keeps a steady pace early on, then builds when Verlaine goes into his mammoth solo. Guitar rock don't get no better than this:
  5. Glass of wine half done and another on the go, then off to catch the subway. I hope they have the Orangemen and/or Raptors games on... I mean, it should be a great night looking at photos and listening to Roller wax poetic about his love of the Hamilton Bulldogs.
  6. I'm bringing my $100 Sony Cyber-shot just to show Davey what a real camera can do.
  7. That would be awesome. I love that the NCAA hockey Final Four is called The Frozen Four. If March Madness is over-hyped to dinghy, then what great tournament is under-hyped? CIS football, hockey, CHL playoffs? The most boring over-hyped international sport of them all is F-1.
  8. It's on at 12:05 and I'm watching.
  9. the ones with virtually no crowd noise? The Molson Amphitheatre show was fucking insane. The sold out concert had fans up en masse standing and grooving, singing and dancing. I loved the atmosphere and I was proud to be a part of it. It was the same for their T.O. show during the Get Behind Me Satan tour. Toronto has rightly earned its reputation for having listless fans, but it's not the case when certain bands come to town, and The White Stripes are one of those special bands.
  10. I agree with your attitude. I drop tons of money into indie record stores such as Mike's on the Danforth and Criminal Records on Queen Street. I just happened to be walking by HMV and there it was and I could resist. I'm a huge fan (I think the Stripes are one of the most important rock bands of this century) and the CD and DVD are fucking great. I think I'll have to go to Criminal next week and buy some CDs to ease my consciousness.
  11. Yep, that's where I bought my CD/DVD combo.
  12. After learning about this Phish/Genesis tribute, I'm going to watch the skies for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
  13. The double disc (DVD and CD) should run you in the $18 range.
  14. He will never thieve another CD off of me.
  15. The CD/DVD came out today. I haven't watched the film (I'm flipping through scenes right now and fracking love what I'm seeing and hearing). But I did just listen to most of the live CD and it's fucking awesome. It's heavy, raw and powerful, but anyone that witnessed their 2007 tour wouldn't expect anyting different. It's also impressively recorded and mastered. So far, the most explosive rock tracks are "Black Math", a very heavy-hitting "Icky Thump", a re-worked "Ball and Biscuit" and "When I Hear My Name", complete with some fine unaccompanied blues solos. Note: the CD does a good job of not repeating songs from the DVD's shows.

    The Pacific

The reviews that I've read all say the first episode is the weakest, which bodes well for the rest of the series.
  17. How about not discussing useless threads made by in-the-minority single-t Scots?
  18. Have you been talking to your brother? He wants me to get a PS3 instead of a Blu-ray player? Oh yeah, I would drink scotch right out of the fracking bottle, Michael Hogan style.

    The Pacific

Band of Brothers remains the best thing I've ever seen on TV. I can't wait for this "sort of" sequel. It will cleanse Spartacus out of my system.
  20. If I watch the series again, I'll need to buy a case of scotch first. Oh, I believe I'll need a Blu-ray player too; but I should be getting one in teh next few weeks.
  21. Ya c-towns, you generally seem like an ok guy, at least on this site. Perhaps your little jabs at me are supposed to funny, or sarcastic; perhaps not. You seem to have a problem with me, even though we've never met. Come talk to me at the photo exhibit if you do indeed have a problem with me. I'll try to stay up after 9. Looking forward to next Friday Davey Boy. Congratulations on your photo exhibit too. Will there be a red sticker sale at some point?
