From footy365 mailbox ('shame it's too late to change allegiances, ollie my boy): I Still Love The Spurs I know today's mailbox is going to be full of whining Spurs fans and every other club mocking us. Quite rightly as well. However, as I watched the inevitable balls-up by my beloved Spurs last night I started to think. Now, I am 30 years old and started seriously following Spurs in the mid-80s, so aside from 1987 when we had a good, although trophyless season, I have never seen much glory. However, I have seen Gazza at his prime, Ginola dazzling, the great attacking Ossie team of 1994/1995. I have also seen Justin Edinburgh, Jason Cundy, Stuart Nethercott, Ian Walker, Ramon Vega, Sergei Rebrov, six 0-0s in a row and numerous 5-1 and 6-1 thrashings by other teams. I saw Spurs go 3-0 up against Man Utd and lose 5-3 and I saw us go 3-0 against Man City and lose 4-3 against ten men. I saw us in Europe 1-0 up after two legs with a minute to go and still manage to lose 2-1 in Germany. I went to the hell hole that is Grimsby last year and watched us lose. And you know what? I loved it. I love the inevitability that we will mess things up. I am not one of these dull, boring Spurs fans who claim they would rather lose 7-4 and 'entertain' like "...the good old days...". To me, there have been no 'good old days'. Just, what I guess, can only be called gallows humour. I love my Spurs, with all their errors, mistakes and general comedy mess-ups. So, to Spurs fans who are definitely going to be moaning today - don't. Remember why you love Spurs - it can't be for winning stuff so why moan when we don't win stuff? And to all the other fans who are laughing at us - enjoy it cos we are...well I am...sometimes. *weeps* Andrew Binns, Spurs
