  1. The original announcement listed David Lauzon as the opener on Jan. 12, and Elbeejay on Jan. 13. As to a nero/TND Babylon show, I found this TND show, at Babylon in January, 2002, but can't find a corresponding nero set. Aloha, Brad
  2. Why not just get a PayPal account? Aloha, Brad
  3. He's an idiot. Once Krisy Kreme gets wind of this, and figures out how to make them, they'll make huge amounts of money; if he could patent it, he'd be able to license the patent to them, and get a share. Aloha, Brad
  4. Another good source for shows of interest is the jambase.com Ottawa listings. Aloha, Brad
  5. If you're a musician in Ottawa looking for bands or people to play with, The Ottawa Musician has some good classified ads. As for clubs, Mavericks and Cafe Dekcuf (which are run by the same people, and are upstairs/downstairs from each other) host a lot of shows that Ottawa jambands.ca people go to. Babylon is another good club (especially their regular Thursday night band The Souljazz Orchestra). Shows of interest (to me, as least) in the coming weeks in Ottawa include: The Souljazz Orchestra @ Le Petit Chicago in Hull (just over the river) on Saturday, November 4 Peter Elkas with Lindy and Paper Moon @ Zaphod Beeblebrox on Wednesday, Nov. 8 James McKenty And The Spades @ The Pour House (upstairs from The Aulde Dubliner) on Saturday, Nov. 11 Lure @ Zaphod Beeblebrox on Monday, Nov. 13 Mike Filipowitsch (of Burt Neilson Band) solo @ Cafe Dekcuf on Saturday, Nov. 18 Moses Mayes @ Mavericks on Friday, Nov. 24 Mr. Something Something @ The Rainbow, also on Friday, Nov. 24 The John Henrys @ Irene's Pub on Saturday, Nov. 25 Real Gone Daddies with Hungry Freaks (a Zappa tribute band) @ Mavericks on Friday, Dec. 8 David Lauzon @ Swizzles on Sunday, Dec. 17 (early show, probably a 5pm or 6pm start time) Burt Neilson Band @ Mavericks on Sunday, Dec. 31 nero @ Mavericks with David Lauzon @ Mavericks on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 nero @ Mavericks with Elbeejay @ Mavericks on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 As well, this site is a good one for info on the jammy scene in Ottawa. (In fact, a lot of the bands I listed above aren't jambands, even though they share a lot of characteristics with them.) Aloha, Brad

I'd assume so; I can't imagine an MP3 encoder that didn't let you select a fixed bitrate. Aloha, Brad
  7. How much were those quarts? (I stuck to 12 oz bottles.) Aloha, Brad

If you have shnamp, you could use this WinAmp output plug-in to have WinAmp write the MP3 files. Aloha, Brad
  10. The absence of your presence was noticed and felt. I hope everything worked/works out OK. Aloha, Brad
  11. She was pretty happy (actually, in any frame of mind, she's pretty) last night...thrillingly so, actually. Happy Day, Ms. H! Aloha, Brad
  12. Man oh man am I looking forward to this. Hearing Zappa's music played live in front of me, getting the chance to get the new CD, and a two-set RGD show? This could be one of my better Friday nights. Aloha, Brad
  13. I think they're held at the door. Aloha, Brad
  14. The Saturday, October 28, 2006 show by Inglewood Jack at The Bytown Tavern in Ottawa is now available for download: http://www.archive.org/details/ingjack2006-10-28.oktava.shnf Enjoy! Aloha, Brad
  15. On behalf of Inglewood Jack, we want to first thank everybody who came out; the turnout exceeded our expectations, and the number and coolness of the costumes made for a blast of a night. Thanks also go to The Tad Hackish Band, who warmed things up really nicely; the three-part vocal harmonies were a treat. And The Souljazz Orchestra were loads of fun, as usual. We also need to thank both The Crowd, who loaned us tons of sound gear, and Dave Wooly Ouellette for bringing loads of his own gear, doing an astounding job wiring it all together and making it all sound good, and for putting on the music during set breaks. It was also fun to be at The Bytown Tavern. I hadn't been there for years, and it was better than I remember it. Last, but certainly not least, thanks to bouche for being on board with us doing this. Happy Hallowe'en, everybody! Aloha, Brad
  16. I supposed it's too cold for a pastel colour polo shirt, cutoffs, and flip-flops? Aloha, Brad
  17. Roll Call: Who's going to be there? Inglewood Jack had our night-before-the-gig rehearsal last night, and we're pumped up for this one. Aloha, Brad
  18. It looks like Mavericks now has a box office on their web page: http://www.mavericksbar.com/boxoffice/ and NYE tickets can be purchased through it. Aloha, Brad
  19. http://www.mavericksbar.com/boxoffice/ The only snag is that they have each night for sale on its own, with nothing there for the both-nights-for-$25 ticket. Aloha, Brad
  20. What The Thunder Said - Turn The Jimmy Swift Band - Weight Of The World Aloha, Brad
  21. I assume the three she got are the ones you mentioned, yes. But I've also seen and heard a (released!) nero Christmas CD, and I admit the possibility that she could have been given CD copies of live shows. I know of no nero "bootlegs", as the band allows and encourages the non-commercial recording and trading of its live shows...hmmm...recording concerts...that might be a fun hobby...nah...I don't think I have the temperment for that... Aloha, Brad
  22. There are bunch more here. Aloha, Brad
  23. I wonder what would happen if a certain/small amount of, say, vodka were forced down the throat of the mini marge voodoo doll... Aloha, Brad
  24. Some of Vegoose will be webcast, using the same setup as was used for Bonnaroo. http://www.jambase.com/headsup.asp?storyID=9342 Aloha, Brad
