  1. Let's see..."craving"..."ice cream"...all you need is some pickles on that platter, and it'd be a strong indication of a personally profound upcoming event... Aloha, Brad
  2. Try iced tea (but not too sweet, with a little lemon). Aloha, Brad
  3. To what does "that" refer? The principle (abatement in pleading), or its application to Ken Lay's case? Aloha, Brad
  4. The flipside of that is that the fines levied against Ken Lay will not have to be paid, and his conviction will effectively vanish, because he died while his appeal was pending. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Lay#Abatement_of_Conviction His estate can be sued, but only for compensatory damages, not punitive ones. Aloha, Brad
  5. I have never used the snooze button. If I need more sleep, an extra 10 minutes is not going to help; I either crank the alarm forward 20 or 30 minutes, or get up anyway. Aloha, Brad
  6. I know they're scheduled to play The Cameron House in Toronto on Wednesday, Dec. 27, and I'm planning on being there (and recording, I hope). Aloha, Brad
  7. For those who are going to the Ottawa show on Saturday, if it ends at a reasonably early hour the jambands.ca Hallowe'en party is also on that night; we'll go as late as we can. Aloha, Brad
  8. They're roughly equivalent to flavoured styrofoam packing material. Aloha, Brad
  9. You might try listening to stuff from http://www.archive.org/details/DeathCabforCutie and seeing which songs you really like, then tracking down the albums that have them. Aloha, Brad
  10. On weekdays, I get up between 6:00am and 7:00am; my alarm is set for 7:00am. On weekends, I give myself the luxury of an extra hour, and get up between 7:00am and 8:00am. I'm rarely groggy/wobbly when I get up. As for napping, I'm hard-core. On weekend mornings after shows, I'll get out of bed by 8:00am, have breakfast, and go back to bed by, say, 8:15am, arising again by about 10:00am. An after-lunch nap (usually 12:00pm to 3:00pm or 4:00pm) is also an essential in my world on weekends. Aloha, Brad
  11. OK, I think I figured it out. On the "Summary" tab, if you hit the "Advanced" button, it brings up the full list. If you click on the value of a field, you're able to edit the text of the field. Aloha, Brad
  12. I just tried it on an MP3 file, and got fields for "Title", "Subject" (which was greyed out and so couldn't be filled in), "Author" (also greyed out), "Category" (also greyed out), "Keywords" (also greyed out), and "Comments". Aloha, Brad

By "ex-female con" do you mean an ex-con who's a female, or a con who used to be a female? (And how would you know the server is an ex-female con?) Aloha, Brad
  14. You can set the title by just right-clicking on the file in a WinXP Explorer window, and selecting the "Properties..." item, which brings up a dialog that has a tab ("Summary") for it. I don't think the dialog has separate fields for the artist/title/album fields, but you can maybe cram all that into the title value. Aloha, Brad
  15. A really good source for info on Roy is Roy Buchanan: American Axe. I read it a while ago (I got to know Roy's music back in the '80s, when I won a copy of one of his Alligator records; I also knew of him from the liner notes to Jeff Beck's "Blow By Blow" album, specifically Beck's cover of "'Cause We've Ended Up As Lovers"), and it gives a lot of info on his early days, and how he was in on rock'n'roll from almost its beginning. Aloha, Brad
  16. But I've written the Ottawa show into my day-timer...in ink. Please let it be Dec. 16, I'd hate to have to go out and buy Liquid Paper or muss up that page of my day-timer with a crossed-out show... Aloha, Brad
  17. Did your band allow taping? Aloha, Brad
  18. Am I alone in never having changed from the first avatar I chose? (And I think I chose it while at an Internet cafe in Paris, France, in October, 2001.) Aloha, Brad
  19. Have you checked with the venue? Aloha, Brad
  20. Did Marc play a guitar at one point? Aloha, Brad
  21. No, I thought about it, but decided not to. Aloha, Brad
  22. The Saturday, October 21, 2006 show by The Jimmy Swift Band at Babylon in Ottawa is now available for download: http://www.archive.org/details/jsb2006-10-21.oktava.shnf Enjoy! Aloha, Brad
  23. I got mine (#001 for both nights ) last night. Aloha, Brad
