  12. Crustini with chevre and oven roasted tomatoes. Prepare crustini by slicing a baguette thinly and toasting lightly- if you like garlic you can rub it with whole garlic cloves and drizzle with a bit of olive oil. For the chevre- throw in some diced chives, lemon zest and black pepper. spread it on the crustini. Tomatoes- I usually use whole canned tomatoes- Altacacina if you can find them. Drain them- and marinade them in some olive oil and balsamic and whatever herbs you want- leave it in the marinade for at least a couple hours. Put them on a pan and roast them whole. Let them cool and assemble. Finish with a good salt and some cracked pepper. It sounds kind of long, but it's pretty simple and quick. Plus it can be prepared ahead. you can also add some arrugula under the tomatoes if you care to.
  13. Have you guys heard about the horse meat controversy? An upcoming show has them preparing horse meat and some people are taking exception to it. I have eaten horse meat once- horse tongue to be exact and it was delicious.

I spoke with some folk at the LCBO recently and they told me that next month we can expect to find a bunch of new offerings from Rogues. Looking forward to trying some tasty new brews!

  16. The Lips have a lot of albums and a lot of different styles. They have always been hit or miss for me. Just because I might not like their current album or style, I always have hope that the next one will be awesome.
  17. Cheap, easy and tasty. Orecchiette w/ Cauliflower, Anchovies and Pistachios It's almost veggie friendly. Anchovies are at least a sustainable fishery.
