  1. Man, how many ways can one company screw us over? First they take their service fees. Then they get a piece of the secondary market with Stubhub and now they hope to take an even bigger piece of the pie by utilizing "dynamic marketing"? Won't this just force higher prices in the secondary market as well? Damn.
  2. There was an opener, although we skipped them. They hit the stage around 9:15 (I think).
  3. I thought Kim was the most animated and looked like she was having the most fun out of everyone on stage. Good show at a great venue.
  4. Super psyched! Thanks for sharing Tash! I already have my campsite booked. Hillside is always a great time.
  5. I have been able to grab top priced tix but it is too dear- anyone want'em before I throw'em back?
  6. I know Lablaws is sponsoring the show, but it must kill the chefs that they are around the corner from St Lawrence Market- where they can get some of the best protein and produce in the city, and they are stuck with pre-packaged pork and wilted veg from the grocery store. I used to live down in that area and Lablaws was over priced and quality was always an issue. I pretty much only shopped there when I missed the market's closing time.
  7. A friend made an add for Toyota's #1 fan contest. It's pretty good. He could use all the visits and "likes" he can get to win. Toyota Add Hopefully this won't end like the Nissan fiasco.
  8. [X] I hope you get mauled by bears [ ] I wish you a bear mauling free day
  9. I will ask around for you dude. My neighbour had her roof done in the fall. Looks good, but I have no idea if it will stand the test of time.
  10. Nope! It was this fine lady right here.
  11. So I just got a phone call that showed up as "flaming fingers". They asked for Richard. I told them they have the wrong number and asked about the flaming fingers thing. Apparently, her company does transcription and data entry. I told her it sounds dirty. She wasn't pleased.
  12. Wasn't great, but I'll probably watch it. I'm not a big McEwan fan. The lady hosting is certainly no Padma. I love Padma.
  13. I was really hopin' for some East Coast August dates. Hartford and/or SPAC would have been fun.

    ox-tail jam

Whoops, my bad. Turn out the "carpacio" was likely an undercooked burger.
  15. If I didn't have other commitments tonight, I would be hitting this up. Those youtubes have had me cracking up.
  16. I've seen the IPEh at a few stores in the GTA. I hope they make it a regular feature though. I love my hops as well! For those that don't check the food forum, where beer is discussed regularly, Southern Tier's Gemini is a great brew. Be warned, it is 9.1% and two big boys will get you good and buzzed. Get'em while you can.
  17. Lobster BLT? Yes please.

    ox-tail jam

Comme Ca was really good. But, the high light was the appies and the wine. My main, while good was not as memorable as my previous evening's tasting menu at Aureole- now that was a meal that is stuck in my mind. Beautiful, tasty food and amazing service. I also had lunch at Olive's, Todd English's place overlooking the fountains at Bellagio. Erin and I split a beef carpacio to start, which set a new standard by which all others will surely pale in comparison.
  19. I think the Ottawa choice will be a great weekend, but Superball is going to be an epic party with lots of great friends. Did I mention I'm getting an RV? I'll cook you a cheeseburger.

    ox-tail jam

I was in Vegas last month and tried a killer appie at Comme Ca and managed to replicate it. photos Ox tails - 2 full coated with flour before your brown them in the pan Veal stock 4 cups (beef stock works fine 1 table spoon of tomato paste 1 French shallot 1/ onion 1 carrot 1 stick of celery 1 bay leaf 5 branch of thyme 5 grain of black pepper 3 gloves of garlic 1 cin stick 1 bottle of red wine - Cab-sau Let it cook, covered, 5-6 hours Reduce uncovered and serve with toast points. I also served this with roasted marrow bones with a simple garnish of parsley, shallot, capers and lemon zest salad- dressed in olive oil and lemon. Really rich, but awesome.
  21. My buddy Auggie plans on taking sax lessons six weeks prior to Halloween next year, just to learn that one riff. Should be an epic (and annoying) costume!
