  1. *snicker* (hi, i live in the gutter. and yes, i am 12.)
  2. i love stephen colbert. i've only read the preface and i can already assure you i wholeheartedly love this book. *edit* i only overheard the jerry seinfeld/jon stewart interview, but i didn't pick up any weirdness. i thought the whole dressing-his-kid-up-like-stephen-colbert costume thing was hilarious. i didn't see that as a jab towards jon at all. i mean, stephen colbert has been getting all this international attention lately for his presidential campaign, so really it's kind of like a superhero costume.
  3. -if there is more than 1 adult staying in the room, more than 1 bathrobe! -i agree with the late checkout & the NICE bath products. -front desk people that are NICE and not snotty & totally unhelpful. -playing cards. either in the room or available at the front desk. -not just a coffee maker, but a kettle and tea in the room
  4. i don't blame him one bit for saying that, i fucking HATE toronto crowds. and guigsy, there probably is truth in what you say -- in that demented venue, he probably had no idea the back of the place existed. i couldn't even see HIM from back there! when i was up at the front, it was your typical toronto lameness. everyone standing completely still. not even head-bobbing. why is toronto like that??? all these people clamour to the front and then just stand there like fricken statues. what is the point of that?! i am always so completely embarrassed when i see shows in toronto, especially if it's a band that doesn't come here very often. it's like gad, please don't judge our whole country on these ugg wearing, handbook of cool rule #1 fun is not allowed lame-os, it's just toronto. i can't think of anywhere else that has crowds like toronto. they are number one on my list of suck for sure. oh, and that was the WORST amount of applause between show & encore i have ever seen. everyone just stood there! ugh, i hate toronto. HATE IT. /rant.
  5. ***swoon*** that's a whole other thread of worship.
  6. [color:purple]maybe you should eat it, bitch. just kidding. *hugs!* hey, some people need a bit of prodding. and if there is anyone who would only dress up if there are other people dressed up too, i am here to nudge. so there. thhhhhhbbbt!
  7. i've been hearing lots of chatter lately about dressing up/not dressing up. if anyone is on the fence about this and wants someone else to be dressed up so they can be comfortable, let me know. i have no problem rocking a costume.
  8. you can pretty much see the venue from the bus terminal if you want to hitch a ride with greyhound.
  9. [color:brown]~*~ WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!!! ~*~ we know you will enjoy your stay here in Jonestown, i mean, Browntown. join us, miiiiiiiiii-chaellllllll..... beeeee one of ussssss..... oh and AS IF you are going to edmonton too?!?!?!? i am so jealous!! show those cowboys how we do it up for ween out here. pfffffft!!!! speak for yourself, heathen!!!!! on that note, here is a pretty rad interview with deaner, courtesy of the onion:
  10. Ween - Friends EP Ween - La Cucaracha Shout Out Louds - Our Ill Wills Gotye - Like Drawing Blood Hot Chip DJ Kicks and i guess feist's reminder, but there's only a couple of songs i like on it. i like that my man my moon song enough to include it on this list though.
  11. did you know that browntracker was created BY ween???????
  12. interesting method of drumming up interest for this show! A CRAZY HALLOWEEN HOAX! i'll be there.
  13. if "breakfast" counts as gobbling mini-chocolate bars after midnight, after a girlfriend & i's annual wine drinking pumpkin carving extravaganza, then yes.
  14. hmmmmm....... all time favourite? if i can only pick one, i'm going to have to say the Rainbow Brite and Patty O'Green (Rainbow Brite's best friend) costumes MissPink & i made back in '98. they were all satin & had foam sewn into the puffy sections. they actually turned out pretty rad. in fact, i think i may have to dig mine out for a regular dressup day sometime. julia, that mrs. roper costume sounds hilarious. do you have pictures? i would love to see it!
  15. there's a violin place on victoria, kinda near jimmy's. i know they do repair work there. i realize a mando is not a violin, but their strings are the name notes, maybe they can fix it? looks like they sell mandolins too? address & contact info at bottom left of this page: http://www.riedstrasviolinshop.com/
  16. great idea and thanks for putting this together! it was great to hang out with all of you, and definitely a fun little time. the SHITTY bar service was sort of a blessing in disguise. i would have been far more hung over if it took less than like 1/2 an hour to get a beer (that douchebag bitchboy with the white tie was the worst, the other guy was way better). and i wouldn't have gotten to meet kevo! thanks so much to LM for the after-party as well. what an insane night.
  17. the highlight of the show for me was hanging out with all you freaks. which is good, because my visual expanse consisted mainly of the backs of your heads. i HATE that venue. (i will say though, that even though i couldn't see a damn thing, being at the back with y'all was WAY more fun than when i was right up front in spitting distance of the band & surrounded by a bunch of smelly weirdos.). overall, i was pretty love/hate with that crowd. i loved all the people i knew, and i actually had a number of awesome encounters with totally random strangers and that's always fun, but there were also a bunch of faces i thought could really use a punch. toronto is probably my LEAST favourite place to see shows, ween included, but i will say the ween crowd is marginally more fun than the usual toronto fare. i was SOOOOOOOOOO happy no dipshits were throwing shit at the band this time. i guess there was some of that going on in detroit. what is the matter with people?! the lack of suitable venue problem is a real one, and it sucks because ween in an arena type venue would be odd. i think the main reason toronto ween shows are so huge compared to some of the other ones, is that a) toronto is the only place they really come in all of ontario, and they only come up here what, once every 4 years or so? that's a lot of rabid fans to accommodate in one night. overall, a great time. i was totally happy with the setlist, and although i was disappointed they ran out of merch, i'm happy they sold enough to! this ween show was unlike any i've ever seen, mainly due to the fact i hardly got to see the band at all, and usually i spend the whole show unable to tear my eyes away. the best part of the show for me, was all of you. so thanks to all of you who came out, you made my night!
  18. happy birthday, foxy lady! i'm glad you were born!
  19. wtf?! drama at the boathouse! shrouded in mystery and intrigue! i hope this show is still going on. somewhere. hey ricky, why don't you guys just set up in the market parking garage?
  20. hmmm, i don't think there's enough ween on page 1. countdown is ON! great costume ideas!
