Jaimoe
Well Megs, this is both an easy and tough question because there's easily 50 years of bad popular music out there to choose from. Off the top of my head and in no order, here's some of my most hated songs of all time: Don' Go - Fefe Dobson Bye Bye Boyfriend - Fefe Dobson Any song by The Tea Party Oops! I Did It Again - Britney Spears Sussudio - Phil Collins Now I'm A Farmer - The Who Mmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmm - Crash Test Dummies Ebony & Ivory - McCartney & Stevie Wonder Say Say Say - McCartney & M. Jackson I Am A Wild Party - Kim Mitchell We Are The World - USA For Africa I Am Superman - R.E.M. ( Sorry TimmyB, but I fu©king hate it ) Music Box Dancer - Frank Mills We Built This City - Starship Behind Blue Eyes - Limp Bizkit Higher - Creed Don't Turn Off The Lights - Enrique Iglasias She Bangs - Ricky Martin She Bangs - William Hung She's Like The Wind - Patrick Swayze The Star Spangled Banner - Francis Scott Key ( horrible lyrics ) God Bless The USA - Lee Greenwood ( worst country song ever ) West End Girls - The Pet Shop Boys Nikita - Elton John Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus Black Cars - Gino Vanelli Black Velvet - Alannah Miles I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred Crying Over You - Platinum Blonde WMCA & In The Navy - The Village People Disco Duck - Rick Dees Disco Inferno - The Tramps Jive Talkin' - The Bee Gees Mamma Mia - Abba Copacabana - Barry Manilow I Write The Songs - Barry Manilow ( he didn't write this dreadful song either ) Barbie Girl - Aqua Lethal Weapon - Honeymoon Suite When A Man Loves A Woman - Michael Bolton ( he should be ashamed of himself ) Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley The Final Countdown - Europe My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion Karma Chameleon - The Culture Club American Pie - Madonna You Light Up My Life - Debbie Boone How You Remind Me - Nickelback American Woman - Lenny Kravitz Wake Me Up Before You Go - Wham! The Sign - Ace Of Base Everything I Do, I Do It For You - Bryan Adams
Tickler
although there are some very bad songs on that list, I think its a little too harsh. There are some decent tunes on there..one of my most hated songs are:closer to the heart - Rushanything from NicklebackThe ketchup song( or whatever the fu©k it was called)Rapspody Delight - Blondie
hamilton
As a completely nerdy aside, "I Am Superman" is a cover, rather than an R.E.M. original. Has anyone actually ever heard the original version of the song, by whoever the hell did it?
Jaimoe
I think I held back Tickler. Some of my most hated bands are Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, Morrissey, Genesis and New Order, but they are all far from being untalented and insignificant. Now, why in the hell could I forget faux-rockers Bon Jovi? Living On A Prayer sucks bad.

Has anyone actually ever heard the original version of the song, by whoever the hell did it? I did know that they didn't write it, but I never knew it was a cover. I don't like R.E.M. at all, but they are talented. That song really sucks however.

grateful_dave
shes like the wind.-patrick swayze. i was on my way to collingwood when i was about 17. that song came on the radio and my buddy driving, turned up the radio. i looked at him with disgust when all of the sudden the words "SHE PASSES WIND" came out. i never laughed so hard in my life. it was some sort of weird al or somethin. the story goes that my friend was pissed the whole day that someone would ruin such a classic swayze hit. but me, it kept me smilin and laughin till we hit the slopes. so remember to sing, "SHE PASSES WIND, THROUGH HER CHEEKS" EVERYTIME YOU HEAR THAT TUNE. IT MAKES IT SOOOO MUCH BETTER. therefore i cant put it on my list of dislikes because i substitute the words and laugh my ass off!
bokonon
lemon, by u2, when the entire album of zooropa came out i almost cried because it was the first time one of my favourite bands put out a sh!tty album and i didn't know that happened all the time. (i was about ten-years old at the time) pre-zooropa u2 is still one of my favourite bands though.

Amanda: Hang on I woke up with a killer hangover Hope it was worth all this pain (I'd do it all over again) By the time the party was over Tequila was my claim to fame (I couldn't remember my name) I was dancing with Jake When I last saw my keys That was my first mistake 'Cause what happened to me? (Oh...) I look down at my arm, baby And something's lookin' back at me And I cannot believe it Chorus: Oh my God! I woke up with a snake tattoo Oh my God! And I think that my tongue's pierced, too Oh my God! Oh my God! It's the Sunday morning after and baby who the hell are you? (Ah...woo hoo hoo!) I remember yelling, 'Hey DJ! Jack the volume, I love this song!' (And then it all gets hazy) And my clothes are selling on E-bay (Click me) And I don't know what I'm gonna put on (Where were my friends to save me?) I blacked out I came to And it's all such a blur Had a blast, I assume But I'm really not sure Exactly where am I now, baby Wake up and tell me your name (Excuse me) 'Cause this is insane! Chorus (Oh my God! Oh my God!) (2 x's) My alter ego took over and took me on a fantasy ride (Do you want to ride) You can take me anywhere twice But the second time will be to apologize Chorus (3 x's) I can't remember (Intermittently during chorus) Where am I? What am I? Who am I? How am I? How did I? I can't remember and Fly away I wish that I could fly Into the sky So very high Just like a dragonfly I'd fly above the trees Over the seas in all degrees To anywhere I please Oh I want to get away I want to fly away Yeah yeah yeah Oh I want to get away I want to fly away Yeah yeah yeah Let's go and see the stars The milky way or even Mars Where it could just be ours Let's fade into the sun Let your spirit fly Where we are one Just for a little fun Oh oh oh yeah ! bokonon
totally right about that horrible lenny kravitz song. is it just me or did he get a whole lot less cool when he cut off his dreads? thank god that doesn't happen to everyone ::. didn't he do a gap commercial or something like that too? what a weiner! i mean, gap makes high quality and nice clothing, it's just that they are made in indonesian sweatshops that totally exploit the workers and the advertising on this side of the ocean just perpetuates stereotypes and the beauty myth. their prices are ridiculous too. check out www.gapsucks.org , if it still works. this site cracked me up a couple of years ago. bokonon
since when is it cool to wear shoes that are horrible for your health and look stupid with jeans? jeans are pants sent straight from heaven, who would want to contaminate them with ridiculous shoes? and flying v guitars were never cool, they were used as distractions from either the lack of talent of the player or the player's ugly face. i think i need that bucket. Cool People who played Flying V's : 1: Bob Mould 2: Albert King 3: Tom Petty 4: Joey Gaydos (the kid guitar player from School Of Rock ... a bad ass musician who plays a flying V in the movie) ... and that's about it RnB
Thumpin
Maybe I missed it in a previous post, but I find it hard to believe the song "private eyes" by hall and Oates has yet to be brought up. Dishonourable mention to that awful Madonna song "American Life?" which contains a rap in it that is quite possibly the worst use of that medium I've ever heard, it makes George Michael's, Wham rap sound like a hard core homey chillin' in the hood, smoking spliffs and busting caps from the nine, laid back, with his mind on his money and his money on his mind. Oh, and further dishonourable mention to Wham for "wake me up before you go...go."
Jaimoe
I forgot to include that awful dance cover of Madonna's " Holiday " by those weirdo Euro-via-South America DJ's M.C. Miker and DJ Sven from 1987.Note: Jimi Hendrix and Randy Rhodes both played Flying V's and they were pretty cool dudes and not too shabby guitar players either. bradm
and flying v guitars were never cool, they were used as distractions from either the lack of talent of the player or the player's ugly face. There are (at least) two notable exceptions: Albert King Lonnie Mack And to see just how good and cool they both were with their flying Vs', here's a picture of each of them with another guitar player who's on most people's list of great guitar players: Aloha, Brad
