The African branch of the breed were found between the Mediterranean coast and the Sahara Desert to the south of the Red Sea. There were two separate species: the Nubian wild ass and the Somali wild ass. The Asiatic branch of the breed came from a much larger area stretching from the Red Sea to Northern India and Tibet where the ass had to adapt to different climate, terrain and altitude.

Ok... so this african is a little confused. Do you live in England? Evidently not, if your favourite band is the slip... in my confusion I checked your profile... hmm...

So we have equines on our farm too, and we've been talking about getting a donkey to keep them company this winter...

equines are the best, especially when they lie in the sun like they are today.

so the confusion is the website you listed is England, you're getting asian-african donkeys from England??
