Guest Low Roller
In the tradition of DJ Dangermouse mixing Jay Z vs. The Beatles in a great album called "The Grey Album", Spinjunkies have mixed the Hov and the Dead in an album called "Jay Z's Dead". I'm listening to it right now, and it's actually really well done. It's sure to confuse any Deadhead. Here is the track list:1. SPINtro/ King Solomon's Marbles2. Encore/ Friend of the Devil3. 99 Problems/ Scarlet Begonias4. Dirt off Your Shoulder/ Fire On the Mountain5. December 4th/ Dark Star6. What More Can I Say/ Shakedown Street7. My 1st Song/ New Minglewood Blues8. Lucifer/ Help On The Way9. Change Clothes/ Slipknot10. Interlude (PSA)/ Franklin's Tower11. Allure/ St. Stephen12. Justify My Thug/ Throwing Stones13. Moment of Clarity/ Music Never Stopped14. Threat/ High TimeDefinitely worth the download!

MoMack
Hey.. I can't get the files to uncompress in MKW... do I need to use something else? I have to burn this and play it for people...
Guest Low Roller
The files aren't mp3s, they are *.wma format which is just another type of compressed file. If it won't decompress in MKW, try using CDex.

Jaimoe
Check-out Jay-Z with The Who's I Can See For Miles. Freaky, but I think Townshend would like it. He's a hip-hop fan.

backbacon
Coolness! I listened to a bit on the way to work. I like the one with Friend of the Devil. and hey.. took me all of 120 minutes to download it all... Btw, you shouldn't need to convert the files.. all I do is drag them into nero and it does a quick little something and they burned as wavs. K
Booche
'i love the 99 problems-scarlet!!!!' So do I............... I got introduced to this a while ago, so when Phish covered 99 Problems with JayZ, I figured they must have played Scarlet as the backing rythm for him. The sheer look at terror on DaveyBoy's face when I first played it for him was worth every ounce of sweat JayZ put into this project.

thatpatguy
this is a great mix.. only one comment in comparison to what DJ Danger Mouse did with The Grey Album.. it would have been cooler I think if the Spinjunkies did what DJ Danger Mouse did and only use the Jay Z vocal tracks and not use any of the other music from the original Black Album and just use GD stuff for the music.. did that make any sense? also.. this is funny.. I posted the link on a graphic design board that I frequent. All those guys on that board are "young and cool" if you know what I mean. This was one of the responses my post recieved: " ha, that's such a bad idea. the only possible people that would listen to it are fratboys." man.. some people are so silly
Sarcasmo
Good stuff. Not quite as tight and well-produced as Grey Album (which is brilliant), but it seems this type of crossover is popular (Jay collaborated with Linkin Park to do an Above-ground equivalent. It's not bad, except that it has linkin park). Sarcasmo
Booche
Has anyone listened to The Beastles? I have that at home as well. Its a Beatles - Beastie Boys combo. One track in particular blew my mind, but I cant recall what it is.
