A rare night of good music tonight at work. MuchMusic's The Wedge program just finished airing Iron and Wine's "Boy with a Coin". Before that was a great tune by The Fiery Furnaces. Coming up after the break is "One Big Holiday" by My Morning Jacket followed by a video by Great Lake Swimmers.

Earlier in the night I watched the recent private Radiohead TV concert "Scotch Mist". I love Radiohead's return to guitar-centric rock and Yorke's playing has never sounded more ballsy and confident.

Holy fvck this is a great record. I can't remember how/why I ended up putting this on Christmas list, but if it was a Skank's recommendation, !

Aloha,

Brad

Right on Brad. Wrecking Ball is a work of art in my opinion. Such a great album.

Me, I'm still absorbing in all the glory that is William Elliot Whitmore's music - easily becoming a favourite. Man this guy can sing. I just wish the album was longer.

WILLIAM ELLIOTT WHITMORE - Hymns for the hopeless

C_whitmore.jpg

A most depressing and at the same time reviving record – eight songs soaked with heartache, pain and loss, drenched in banjos and whiskey, and sung by a voice that is only ineptly described as gravely. Six feet deep of gravel is more like it. Life is simple: love and loss, pain and death, whiskey and work, three chords and five to eight strings is all that is needed. And you’ll only get that, if you are lucky. Moreover, the record is called “hymns for the hopeless†not “of the hopeless†or “from the hopelessâ€. Enshrouded in mystery as well as in misery.

Bob Dylan

Woodstock '94

Saugerties, New York

14 August 1994

New Bootleg 2007: WT 7902 (Woodstock Tapes)

Recording type: Proshot

Stereo TV broadcast, 81 minutes

Top 10 Bob Dylan concert, now factory made with great sound and picture

Silver>DVDFab HD Decrypter 4>EF CheckSum Manager>btcompletedir>HC>you

Hard to tell wich version this is, but it's CC-sound (Crystal Cat) to my ears.

Later discovered mono, but still with crystal clear sound.

Anyway ! It's free, so if you don't have it grab it !

Great moment: Bob sings the complete lines in "Watchtower" before making a chord change

Sample: Jokerman avi/85mb
