Rob Not Bob
This is even tougher, as my last "Top 5" list for drummers was over 100 musicians, and ultimately I have only seen 1 of them live, but to boil it down to a simple 5 would be (and I am leaving a lot of guys out) :Bill BrufordTony WilliamsDanny CareyGuy EvansSimon KirkeHonourable mentions : Butch Trucks, Jaimoe and Mark Quinones for crushing me like a bug at the one time I saw the ABB. Also Ringo Starr, Tim O'Reagan and Malcolm Travis.

Rob Not Bob
Let's not forget Buddy Rich's classic drum battle with Animal on the Muppet show (Buddy lost , but that's ok because a) Animal technically cheated by throwing a kick drum at Buddy's head, and Animal's drum parts were played by Buddy too)

Booche
Jaimoe may not have the best link, but I agree with his choice. Buddy Rich is rich. I aint know nothing about drummers, but the first time I saw him (on video), I was completed trans-fucked.

DES
After spending more than an hour at drummerworld.com watching videos, out of the 20 or so I watched,I have to say Buddy Rich blew my mind most. Holy crap! I remember as a kid, my parents watching Johnny Carson, and he'd have Buddy Rich as a guest come out and drum solo for 5 minutes before the interview. One of those solos is featured at drummerworld.com.And the drummer who played Bonzo's kit on the John Bonham link did an awesome tribute. What a thrill that must have been for him. If that kit could talk, man...it does.In no particular order for me,John BonhamJohn BonhamJohn Bonhamhonourable mention:Bill BrufordVinnie COmar HakimDanny LockwoodDave King

bradm
I'll offer up Cozy Powell, mostly because no-one's mentioned him yet, and I'd characterize him as being nearly as heavy as John Bonham.Aloha,Brad
