AD
Hey, here's a somewhat serious question...You've always been good on advice for these types of purchases, but now that you're selling stuff, are you still gonna give sound advice? I'm hoping the advice comes before the sale, ie. not selling less-than-stellar merch... I know you're a stand up guy. Just hoping that you're aware of the kind of questions that might come up. It's buyer beware always I guess. And the return policies are good too.Hey. I'm not knocking this at all! I'm customer 2!!AD
Basher
AD - I am not selling anything. I am only finding best prices, for a small service fee.The typical customer will already have made up their mind on what they want to buy, then come to me to beat the best price they found. As the customer will end up buyin directly from a retailer, the returns and warranty are already ataken care of.

ollie
I don't want to be pendantic but I can't help it. And I think this looks like a cool service and I might try it out but... aren't you "selling" the deal of the day?
Basher
I am selling a service. You end up buying the deal of the day from an actual reseller.BTW, this will be the only deal of the day advertised on the Scank. peipunk
How do you make sure you don't get ripped off?? Do you take a credit card payment before giving the source of the deal?
Basher
Yes I do punk. You pay me, and once payment is received the deal is released to you to purchase. For example, the deal above costs $1.40 to members of the Scank to receive.
ollie
I suppose I'm using the word selling in a broader sense. I understand that you are not directly selling the item mentioned in the deal of the day, but you are selling the idea that this is today's deal and that it's a worthwhile purchase. Whatever. I'm just being pedantic. Not even my question. I was just sorry to see AD throw in the towel so easily. I will now join your mailing list!
Basher
LOL ollie. You are correct. I am selling a service.
AD
I was just sorry to see AD throw in the towel so easily. I have a lot of angry Frenchmen to deal with today, otherwise I would have asked more questions. But I know the service is good; it's already saved me money (theoretically) AD
Alexis
as you are selling a service, is GST included in your fee?
CyberHippie
Basher only needs to charge GST if Pricebasher.ca is going to be making more than $30k a year. Perhaps next year he'll be charging GST?
Basher
Oh, I will definitely be charging GST. That being said, I only charge GST on the money paid to me, i.e. the service fee.
Alexis
so for example, in this case it's $1.40+GST?
Basher
In this particular case GST is included in the price. Going forward, once the website is fully launched, GST will be added on.
