Oh, related story, driving along the I-90 in upstate NY me and my brother saw a bunch of what looked like bills floating all over the highway. Pulling over with eager anticipation of an early retirement, we picked one up and it was only redeemable at some 2-bit porn shop two exits the other way. Cock tease.

How long did it take to double back to the shop? What'd you buy?

Item-Myself, Pablosanchez and Brahm once found what we thought was a huge bag of coke in a bush, we were only 12 or so and it was probably Baking soda. Still cool.

My family used to drive down to Florida over winter break. One year, I was probably about 6, we were on the beach in Delray Beach. I remember being warned not to go into the tall grass on the opposite end of the sand from the water...though it doesn't make sense, I remember either being told or extrapolating that I might run into poison ivy. At the time, though, I didn't know what poison ivy was, whether it was a plant or something else. I got curious about that tall grass, though, and was kind of poking through it one day when I came upon what I realize now was a used syringe, but at the time I was sure was poison ivy. As soon as I saw it, though, I was startled by a very loud whistle and looked up to my right to see a lifeguard standing on top of his tower about 50 yards away, motioning me to stay out of the grass. The combination of whistle and anger from an authority figure scared me senseless, but I'll always remember my close call with poison ivy.

Also, when I moved into my new house a month ago, I went down to one of the basement rooms and discovered a door in one of the walls. It was painted the same colour as the wall and there was no trim around it so I hadn't noticed it before. I opened it, and beyond the door was another smaller door made of metal. Beyond THAT door was an old cold storage, maybe 2' x 3', with a tiny little window looking out over the front yard of the house. In the room was nothing old rickety wooden shelves, and a singular old beat-up black suitcase on one of the shelves. I took the suitcase upstairs and opened it up. Inside was an old reel-to-reel tape recorder (for small reels, possibly the last reel-to-reel recorder before cassette players were introduced). There were two reels in the box, too; one labelled March, 1985, and one labelled May, 1988. Contained on the tapes? Recordings of phone conversations, mostly two-sided, most of them featuring a woman named Ruth. Fuckin weird, but fuckin cool.
